Found the following in the Club's Annual Accounts which were released last month which I think is interesting in light of how the Club and Fans react, depending on what expectations people are working towards - there is obviously a disconnect between the Club and a proportion of the Fanbase - who is right?

"Retention of the Club's Premier League status is the primary objective, but as set out in the Chairman's statement of the club's vision to be a top-ten club in the Premier League, and a top-four club in the Women's Super League, with stretch goals of European qualification and highest ever finishing position respectively"

A stretch goal is defined as:

"Stretch goals are ambitious targets that push individuals or organizations beyond their usual expectations, encouraging them to strive for more than what seems initially achievable. They are often used to motivate teams, inspire innovation, and achieve remarkable outcomes. While stretch goals might not always be reached, the process of aiming for them can lead to significant progress and a deeper understanding of what's possible."

If its the Europe point you are looking at there is a large difference between expecting Europe and aiming for Europe. Those that sit in the former are I think deluded at the moment. We will be lucky to finish top ten this year. We are neither consistently good nor bad. So we are getting that which we deserve.
