Think Mayo still has a job. Butters is lucky that Hinsh is out or his future IMO wil start looking bleak.

Would be quite happy to see Mayo go the same way as Chippy.

He looks very suspect at times and although he isn't the only one guilty, he has cost us a few points

Hart: hmm, dunno, maybe give him one more season.

I agree

I would like to see both Tank and OGH given some sort of coaching role at the club next season, that would of course be largely dependant on whether they were interested in winding down their playing days in that manner or preferred to carry on playing elsewhere.

Tank yes, but is there a danger of over the top loyalty?

It makes me laugh that people throw Mayo's name into these threads (yes I know I mentioned him first)
He is only 28. It's his testimonial year because he hasn't been to another club. He has years ahead of him yet.

Butters is lucky that Hinsh is injured? Sorry Adrie but that is wrong!!

I think that OGH is definitely worth keeping on a playing only basis for next season, maybe it is over the top loyalty but I reckon that is a vastly under-rated virtue these days, why not help these two players into a coaching role for when they finish playing?

Because Mayo is not very good?

He's the standard the team is playing at. Under Coppell he was runner up to player of the season (because he was playing in his proper position as midfielder)
If he doesn't meet fans expectations is that his fault or the fault of the managers?

Both very valid points.

I would like Butters to be given a coaching role. He's been there and done it. Oatway is a trier, but (in relative terms) not very good and has never played at the top level. When we were in the Championship, he was never a regular first choice player.

Mayo, same as Oatway.

Now, back to Hart. IMO, he's not the most skilful player we have, but he has a knack of causing problems and winding up the opposition. I very much hope that he is kept on for at least another year. His work ethic is something that many players could learn from. He's versatlie and I feel deserves a place on the bench. By only selecting 'specialist' players on the bench, it limits the options to make changes in formation.

Best £1000 (and bag of balls) we ever spent.

Hart's only 30; he's got plenty of years playing. I'd like to think I'll see him take the field at Falmer - although that looks increasingly unlikely.

I think the club would be foolish to get rid of someone who gives 100% every game and is so versatile with it.

I hope Oatway gets a coaching role, I don't really care about qualifications and ability to do the role I think its more important being popular in the dressing room.

Why would that be then?

Perhaps he is Hinsh's bitch and while he is out Guy doesn't have to pick up the soap.

Actually Kezza played either at left wing back or the left of three centre backs during Coppell's reign - the latter could well be his best position - but I agree he was immense that season
