Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street (Chiltern) likely to be cheapest route. A few beers in Brum and then a short hop to Wolverhampton.

I did that route back from Villa once, never again!! I think I saw penguins out the window at one point, it took that long.

I use the Chiltern line a lot for London. If you are travelling alone it's 40 quid return to Birmingham from London Marylebone, however, kids essentially go free on a family ticket making it much more cheaper for multiple people than the Avanti and a million times less frustrating than the West Midlands steam train via Northampton.

Yes. Normally cheaper, but slower by about 40 minutes.

Yes i think that info from the footballgroundguide side is either out of date or just plain wrong. It actually says that the ground capacity is over 31000 which means by definition they would have to give us 3000.
I went back and checked my figures and the block quantities are as follows JL2 370, JL3 412, JL4 255, JL5 335, JL6 335, JL7 294, JL8 364, JL9 350, JL10 266, ELSD 28,
making a grand total 3009.

Unless you’re being sarcastic in which case I feel completely slighted.

I realise it is not usual on social media in general or NSC in particular to openly admit that one has made an error and apologise but then perhaps i am somewhat unusual! (also i do not know if you had noticed but i did go back at the time and alter my original post).

I’ve got my ticket but I’ve a friend with fewer points waiting for their window. If they can’t get into my block can anyone remember if all the blocks back onto the same concourse? There are so many blocks they might divide it up. I went last year but can’t remember.

Having done a quick search of other PL clubs' ticket sales pages for Wolves away where the club, unlike the Albion, state the away allocation that is pretty much bang on.

I've seen various numbers quoted including 3,008 and 3,014.

Indeed. I booked my return ticket (well, the London to Wolverhampton section) for my son and I as soon as it was announced as 3pm KO. £60 for the two of us. I'd be surprised if that deal is still available.

I booked a train for a long weekend (going Friday returning Monday). Using Splitmyfare and Old Person’s railcard I got a return for £26 from Seaford which was a pleasant surprise. Hotels in Birmingham look cheaper than normal as well.

I always use that route going to the midlands. It’s a bit slower (but cheaper) but at least you always get a good view. In contrast, see photo for the marvellous view I got on a recent Avanti train out of Euston. With Chiltern railway you also get the bonus (for a train geek) of using Marylebone and (especially) Moor Street, which are wonderful stations.

1 When will the club open the rest of our allocation?
2 Can we sell them all when they do? (hoping of course that they do indeed intend to open the rest)
