I'd be happy with Dowie. He's done a brilliant job at Oldham, is young, intelligent and is widely respected throughout the game. We'd play good football under him and he knows the lower divisions. He has an eye for a bargain and is obviously very good in nurturing young talent.

For me he's the best candidate. He wasn't on the Argus' short list ( how reliable that is I don't know) but that worried me. Surely we'd want to talk to him?

I just hope Dick Knight has actually approached him.
