It really looks to me like people's differing views on the issue boil down to what they mean by "fair": rewarding loyalty/financial commitment, or being more inclusive, which means introducing more churn or randomness into ticket allocation. Different definitions, but both sides use the same word.This is probably a reflection of my innate hippiness, but I think it would be fair for some tickets to go in a ballot because some people’s circumstances mean they can’t accumulate loads of points no matter how dedicated they are.
I have almost no friends or family, a flexible job and expendable income, so I go to lots of games mainly for something to do and because I can. I know people who care about the Albion a lot more and I’d rather the tickets went to for high-demand games, for whom it’s a comparatively huge effort in terms of time, finances and kids. I get why they’re not in the same tier as a dork like me, but an element more chance would seem a bit fairer.
