All parties wanted the loan deal to succeed. Purely down to Evan to force his way into the reckoning at West Ham
But it was never going to.

Either Ferguson turns into an absolute beast and we’ve helped Potter and a division rival or, well, this happens. Didn’t make sense either way. Should have dropped down a division or two.

Or maybe it would have made sense for Ferguson to stay at Brighton and get a run of U21 games and be a bench back up if Pedro and Welbz have co-existing injuries?

Whatever is ‘wrong’ with Ferguson, ‘demotion’ to a Championship side (which is prob how he’d have seen it) or sending him to a failing PL manager in a close to Championship side never seemed like the panecea people were expecting it to be.

I sort of suspect the January move was more about keen-to-impress-Potter wanting to appease Hammerites with a ‘personal coup’ of ‘getting’ Ferguson because of their striker situation than anyone ITK really believing Ferguson would suddenly start packing them in if he left Brighton for a WUH loan.

Beginning to wonder tbh if he is going to turn out to be one of the many sad young casualties of modern football management that can ruin prodigy players by playing them too hard and putting them under too much psychological and physical stress while they are still teenagers..

surprised hammers havent returned him (assuming thats allowed mid-season?). if hes not getting game time then why they would continue to pay his wages is beyond me.
No, that’s not allowed mid-season. Would only be allowed during the January transfer window, and like Barco, we wouldn’t necessarily be forced to take him back.

Why are we criticising West Ham for not playing a player who’s done jack all every time he’s been given a chance? The only person to blame for Evan not getting game time is Evan.
It's a fair call. And I think the same applies to Buonanotte.

The manager is never singling a player out. Down the bottom of the table they will shoot their own grannies for a point. It's up to the player to force their way in and take the chance

No it doesn't. Buonanotte was doing fine at Leicester - one of their best players, in fact, according to their fans. Then horse-face took over, didn't like him, dropped him - and Leicester have got worse and worse since (except on bloody Saturday, of course  )

In RVN's case it was more 'shoot yourself in the foot' rather than 'shoot your own granny!'

Just far enough away from LDC
So west ham are a team that's struggling. Dropping in the league and looking dull and inspiring for large chunks of a game.

Wonder who their next away game is against.....

I don't like it and maybe Leicester fans don't like it. But it's a legitimate selection decision. Facu just hasn't done enough, either during training or in his appearances to convince the manager that he's the player who will get them points.

It's highly unlikely the manager has a personal dislike of the player which he's putting above the chance to get points.

Different managers just want different types of players and when they made the change, it went from a decent loan to a bad one. This is far from uncommon

He was literally their best player (according to Leicester fans and the evidence of our eyes) when RVN came in. He was getting them points with his performances.

He pretty much instantly took a dislike to him for one reason or another and took him out of the team. This coincided pretty neatly with their form plummeting.

It's nothing like the Ferguson situation.

So Leicester have picked up and improved without Buonanotte in the team, have they? Weird analysis, that.

Tricky, Potter has no room to give Ferguson development minutes and had we kept him in the squad he'd have been under immense pressure. A loan to a promoted Championship team even feels too much for him so a loan to a Championahip tean next season might be best.
