Sadly, I was at sea then.

I think it was an offshore fishery protection patrol, probably off Shetland as I remember listening to it on the World Service. You would have thought Her Majesty’s cod, herring and mackerel stocks could have looked after themselves for one bloody weekend.

I did make both games at Wembley tho.

I was there, as a 14 year old. In the seats on the side of the pitch.

Just far enough away from LDC
Behind the goal staring straight down the barrel of case's free kick. Was driven up to Brixton then underground via victoria to the game.

On the way back going through Croydon and a palace fan making tosser gestures at the car. Sadly struck the front seat passengers arm and was last seen on the ground having beem swung round. Can remember the music in the car, style council/ Tracey, jo boxers, david bowie, Thomson twins

I can't remember last week but music mix tape from 42 years ago is still fresh in my head

Only time I’ve ever bought a ticket off a tout outside the ground.

I was living in Lincolnshire at the time and had arranged to meet my brother at Highbury who had my ticket.

No sign of him by 2:45 so panicked and bought a ticket. Obviously my brother then turned up about 5 minutes later 🤦‍♂️

Watching that again - I think VAR would have ruled out their goal. But would we really have wanted that?
I think it was Damian’s house party the night before. Minesweeping with Manu who also slept at his house the night before the match was not the ideal preparation for the coach trip to Highbury.

Yes behind the goal, Clock End. What a day. What. A. Day. That and Newcastle 1979 are still the two highlights of my Albion-supporting life, massively helped of course by the fact that I was young and it was all new.

EDIT: Just to add if I had to pick my all-time favourite Albion goal it would be that Jimmy Case one.

Yes in the Clock End. Me and my mates were getting pretty crushed so a policeman told us to climb a dividing fence
It was the most exciting away day ever. I remember Victoria Station being very lively on the way home

I was there with my Dad. To this day it remains one of the greatest days supporting the Albion. We were in the clock end and seemingly right in line with ‘that’ free kick. Incredible!!!!
