I think the club should make this happen for home fans at the Newcastle home game now and publicise accordingly - and just leave Liverpool to it after the match on 19th.
Great idea.

I love hanging about on the last day and reminiscing about the season after clapping the players off. Thanks Sky you've ruined that as no way will I do that after Liverpool with work next morning. I'm really pissed off about this.

Wasn't that the name of a Beatles cover band song? The Colour Beatles sing "My Amex & Liverpool 8:00 p.m. Monday Blues

I think that in the PL - our last home game of the season (when it’s not actually the final game) has never been on a Sat/Sun at 3pm etc

United 2018 - Friday 8pm 1-0
Covid
City 2021 - midweek 8pm 3-2 (first post covid match)
City 2023 - midweek 1-1
And now
Liverpool 2025

Fwiw - three of the best nights ever at the Amex.

It’s bullshit. Essentially a nothing game for Liverpool who will get all the TV coverage that night. It could be a big game for us though and we are being treated as a sideshow to the main event. I’ll be there for our lap of appreciation but It will be a great shame that Sky will have reduced the size of the crowd left by a huge amount. It’s a joke.

Only 6 of our 19 home games will have been 3pm Saturday kick offs this season.
And six will have been played on weeknights with all the associated transport aggrevation. Over 31%. Monday and Friday night games are an abomination.

Whilst I've renewed ST for next season, a repeat in 25/26 means I won't bother again unless there's a dramatic (and highly improbable) improvement in the transport situation.

Getting too old to wait ages for, and then be, crammed like a sardine into a 3 coach chugger.

I'm flying to Italy very early Tuesday Morning for work, if i go to the game I'll not be home until 11/12 so will just not bother. Can't take the kids as it's not my night with them (I'd have had them on the weekend had it stayed Sunday game)

I've just cancelled all my sky TV in a huff. My youngest is very annoyed about it all and so am I. I'll listen on the radio or find some other way to watch.

I'm genuinely questioning ever bothering with a school night games at the AMEX. Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham were easier to get home from than the Amex on a school night so far this season. I live near Bognor

Once again our board (not naming names…) have/will do f*** ALL. Because they don’t care. When fans actually wake up to this might be the point something has to give.
So what is it you expect them to do, exactly?

f***ing SAY SOMETHING. Even if they can’t legally or contractually do anything still say something. This is a SHOCKER of a fixture change. There is a growing perception among ‘average’ fans that the people at the top of our club are starting to lose contact with the ‘average’ fan. Considering where we have come from that is not a good trend. I honestly believe there are people at the top end of the club who no longer give a shit about the ‘average’ fan. They have forgotten where we’ve come from and the journey it’s taken to get here.
Be very careful because just one bad season and they’ll be back to begging the ‘average’ fan to get back on board. #Together anyone?

One positive is we will now be the last to play that gameweek and have a better idea on what's needed for europe before the final game, if we are not in the frame by then a few empty seats might be on show!
Yeah cos we’re well known for raising our performances in those crucial games 🤦‍♀️

In the three equivalent penultimate midweek evening games in the PL, they were all crucial and all examples of us raising our performance - in 2018 - beat Man Utd to stay up, 2021 - beat City in the PL for the first time, 2023 - drew with City to get a Europa League place.

So yes. We are.

Can imagine the exchange is going to be very busy for this match.

That's was one of the happiest moments I've had watching the Albion since I started in 1973. Seeing us going toe to toe with the best team in the world at the time, coupled with Enciso's wonder-goal, was the culminating moment in an unforgettable season. I most probably stayed and hung around after.

But this season feels different. I am quite satisfied with our squad and manager and feel we have been unlucky again with injuries that have seriously hindered our progress. A lot of great moments along with some dire. Even if we attain European qualification, there's nothing like the first time.
