Great idea.I think the club should make this happen for home fans at the Newcastle home game now and publicise accordingly - and just leave Liverpool to it after the match on 19th.
Trains will run until end of service.I do hope so. Last train from Lewes to Eastbourne at 2157 followed by rail replacement buses could be problematic.
And six will have been played on weeknights with all the associated transport aggrevation. Over 31%. Monday and Friday night games are an abomination.Only 6 of our 19 home games will have been 3pm Saturday kick offs this season.
So what is it you expect them to do, exactly?Once again our board (not naming names…) have/will do f*** ALL. Because they don’t care. When fans actually wake up to this might be the point something has to give.
f***ing SAY SOMETHING. Even if they can’t legally or contractually do anything still say something. This is a SHOCKER of a fixture change. There is a growing perception among ‘average’ fans that the people at the top of our club are starting to lose contact with the ‘average’ fan. Considering where we have come from that is not a good trend. I honestly believe there are people at the top end of the club who no longer give a shit about the ‘average’ fan. They have forgotten where we’ve come from and the journey it’s taken to get here.So what is it you expect them to do, exactly?
Yeah cos we’re well known for raising our performances in those crucial gamesOne positive is we will now be the last to play that gameweek and have a better idea on what's needed for europe before the final game, if we are not in the frame by then a few empty seats might be on show!
In the three equivalent penultimate midweek evening games in the PL, they were all crucial and all examples of us raising our performance - in 2018 - beat Man Utd to stay up, 2021 - beat City in the PL for the first time, 2023 - drew with City to get a Europa League place.Yeah cos we’re well known for raising our performances in those crucial games![]()
That’s why there’s a 6 page thread on the very subject: https://www.northstandchat.com/threads/we-are-key-game-big-game-bottle-jobs.412859/In the three equivalent penultimate midweek evening games in the PL, they were all crucial and all examples of us raising our performance - in 2018 - beat Man Utd to stay up, 2021 - beat City in the PL for the first time, 2023 - drew with City to get a Europa League place.
So yes. We are.
Me too sadly Questions. This is why I gave up my season ticket.
What did you do in 2023 ?Great idea.
I love hanging about on the last day and reminiscing about the season after clapping the players off. Thanks Sky you've ruined that as no way will I do that after Liverpool with work next morning. I'm really pissed off about this.
That's was one of the happiest moments I've had watching the Albion since I started in 1973. Seeing us going toe to toe with the best team in the world at the time, coupled with Enciso's wonder-goal, was the culminating moment in an unforgettable season. I most probably stayed and hung around after. What did you do in 2023 ?
