And today we had our first choice CBs, our first choice left back, and he chose to play Wieffer over the current England U21 right back. It’s hardly poverty.

No we didn’t. Both Webster or Igor would’ve started ahead of a clearly unfit/poor performing Dunk.

Wieffer played at right back ahead of Hinshelwood because Jack was horrible there in our last game, getting absolutely rinsed by their winger all game.

Veltman, Kadioglu or Lamptey would’ve played at right back ahead of Wieffer if available. But they aren’t. Because they’re all injured.

Last week we oblige a team that havent scored for over 800 hours, who score 2, this week we oblige a team that haven't won at home for 4 months. Its embarrasing (cue happy clappers with tales of Withdean)

The last goal like Leciester 2nd last week, was school boy stuff, simply no defending, a ridicuously easy concession, both goals look like our team lacks defensive coaching, lacks strategy or awareness.

FH was the polar opposite for 6 months, including getting into a lot of trouble with officials. These last few weeks including against Leicester, he now just sits seemingly demoralised.

Kadioglu would be starting, Steele would be available to push Verbruggen and probably start, based on Bart’s current form. Mitoma would’ve started, possibly March (if both fully fit), Veltman would be available and either him or Kadioglu playing, Milner would be available and probably starting, Webster or Igor would be ahead of a very out of form Dunk.

We’re missing up to seven players who feasibly could’ve started.

The club cocked up loaning out Enciso and Ferguson. In a game like this we have no option from the bench to get us a goal

Hurzeler has performed poorly. But he doesn't deserve the sack. He's done enough to get another 6 months, but on the proviso that improvement is needed all over the pitch

And as for the tactics?
What tactics are we playing? What tactics do we play? Because most of us (of a certain age) have basically seen them all- from sweepers to long balls to tikitaka and I have no, ZERO, clue what his tactics are.

For his tactics of intensity, directness, pressing high and winning duels etc. it is overly reliant on Rutter being fit and part of a front three with Welbeck and Pedro.

Without him, the tactical set up completely lacks identity. We’re no longer capable of building from the back, we’re no longer capable of going long and direct, so we’ve got a mesh of the two without any clear patterns of play. It is a concern.

The players always look so miserable when they arrive at matches. They also start so slowly from the start of the game and after half time. This raises big questions about his ability to motivate the players.

That's a good point.
RDZ may have ballsed it up tactically in Rome for instance, but he always had that aura and you just know he did motivate and inspire the players..... senior pros were waxing lyrical about him.

Hurzeler seems like a nice enough person but is full of clichés and psycho babble, is often passive on sideline and is the inspirational antithesis of RDZ.

About as inspiring as a boiled potatoe.

My first couple of years were at the Goldstone, went a handful of times to Gillingham when my dad would take me, had a season ticket at Withdean until I left to live in the Midlands at 18 years old.

I didn't say he was our worse manager, Sami probably gets that gong but I didn't dislike Sami the way I do with Fab. I just think he's a bland, talentless prick with all the charisma of a baked bean

I would say he's done enough to NOT get another 6 months.

He has demonstrated he does not yet have the tactical nous or experience to manage at this level.

A club of our stature cannot afford to waste another season. Bigger clubs than us have been relegated when they fail to get things right in a season.

We know he's not good enough and we can be sure he's not to become good enough in the next six months - so let's get rid sooner rather than later and give a new manager the summer.

In some ways we've shot ourselves in the foot in recent matches, but in others, everything that could have gone wrong has gone wrong.

I wouldn't call for him to be sacked yet either.

But he looks every bit the rookie and lacking in vital experience. Dare I say, a bit out-of his depth.

As @Weststander said, he looks like he's demoralised/resigned or something isn't right in his demeanour?? That is of course pure speculation.

Seemed he was not TBs first choice either and I wonder with Ipswich facing the drop, if TB might enquire again with what was seemingly his first choice, McKenna?
