As the Albion are (kindly) helping Brentford to sort out their home form woes, I thought I’d focus my mind on the NHL Playoffs that begin tonight with the President’s Trophy winning Winnipeg Jets hosting St Louis in game 1 🇨🇦🏒

As a Jets fan, I’m hoping for a longer run in the playoffs this time around…(oooh, get in Welbs!!!) but we will see…they certainly have many of the required components for a strong run. 🤞

*I may have to add a further reply (to myself) if the Albion struggle in the second half!!

Blues have lost 3 in a row and are grateful they made the playoffs after being out of them for 2 years. Yes, they got hot against some good teams. Much better shape than the Blackhawks but I really believe the Jets will take them in 4 or 5 games.

My 5 year old grandson in Colorado Springs has now declared he wants to play hockey and he's learning to skate now. The local league won't take him till he's 6 years old.

The Blues were on a superb 12 game (I think) winning run until the Jets beat them in OT to end the run a few weeks ago which fills me with confidence, however last season the Jets also thrashed the Avs 7-0 in the regular season immediately before getting dumped out in 4 games in round one of the playoffs… by Colorado!

The playoffs are such a different beast altogether aren’t they? I also noted that a President’s Trophy winning team has only gone on to win the Stanley Cup 8 times since 1985-86…😳

I love it that your grandson wants to play hockey! My late Winnipegger grandfather always told us that he learnt to skate before he could walk!
