Minteh and world class are not in the same sentence, top EPL class maybe, and that for us would be more than ok.
I feel as a fan base we need to stop with this ‘world class’ labelling bollocks. Minteh is miles away from that.
He has pace, stamina and strength. When he's on form he can glide past the defender, he can assist, he can score.

He has the potential to play at the very highest level. Given that EPL is the strongest league in the world, top EPL class is world class.

If only he can turn learn how to turn his brain on during matches. The stupid errors, losses of possession and being out of position are the issue - you can learn that.

It really hit home last week vs Leicester when Solly came on, got the ball out wide and stood 2 beautiful balls up and into the danger zone.
Really hope he can get himself fit for next season.

He should be a bit part player at that age. Bring him in and out. The inconsistency is to be expected. More RW options needed.

Even if Solly is a 90 min player nest season, 30+ is old for a PL winger.

As an aside, I think we should ditch inverted wingers when Mitoma isn't playing. It works well if you have top quality players who can cut in and score. Minteh has been figured out, just show him to the line and he won't beat you

It's different if Mitoma is playing, he is exceptional off the outside of his right

Starting a revolution from my bed
It was inevitable that his form would drop off after being asked to play that highly demanding hybrid winger/wing back role. I posted as much at the time, it just wasn’t sustainable as a permanent job. Constantly covering for full backs who aren’t full backs must get pretty frustrating when you want to just be a winger.

He has to put in a huge amount of running, be switched on defensively from a positional perspective and still produce a lot for us going forwards as well. Unfortunately, in the last few weeks he’s not been able to do it. Yesterday in fact he did seem to be in a slightly different role first half, but that may have been because a lot of the ball was in their half. My only concern would be if he’s deliberately not playing to FH’s instructions because he’s either fed up of the role or physically he feels he can’t sustain it. He was a big part of our improved defensive shape so it is disappointing.

Regardless, he’s high on the list of players who I think can be excused for a drop off in form because he was/is essentially being asked to play in two positions and do an insane amount of running.

Good outlet and great pace. Good signs this season.

Dreadful attitude at the moment. I found him shaking his head after being subbed recently as absolutely rank. The sheer arrogance, individualism and lack of awareness.

His complete lack of a right foot and the coaching team complete failure to change this is dreadful.

Solly has to start on Saturday. Absolutely HAS TO.

I can only say this so many times, but Solly himself, in his post-match interview, said he is not currently able to start.

Haven't seen that. Was he ruling himself out of starting next weekend as well? If he is able to start he absolutely has to V West Ham. Give them a half each if need be.

So are you thinking, that Solly hasn't been starting because of a tactical / selection decision by the manager?
