Interesting I thought that there were no aides whispering in Trump's ears during the meeting with Zelensky, a sign that maybe directly talking to him without "interference" can bring results?

On reflection I just don't think this means anything from Trump. Talk is cheap, especially his.
He's trying to look balanced - he isn't.
If he puts more sanctions on Russia or sends more weapons and Patriots to Ukraine, I'll start to believe him.

I imagine Trump’s change of rhetoric is him realising that Zelenskyy is a revered figure and has the support of the world.

He clocked that he’s been on a hiding to nowhere blaming the Ukrainian leader for the war continuing.

So Trump needs someone to blame for his peace talks failing miserably. It looks like iu might be Putin .

One thing we know for sure, Trump only serves himself and possibly his Russian masters.

It certainly won’t be for the good of Ukraine.

You’re right. But although his talk is cheap it’s still good to hear him say (what millions have been saying for a long time) that he might be being played by Putin

You never know, the seeds of doubt may have been planted, and given time, maybe, just maybe, the cogs will be beginning to turn with a clank, a grind and a whirr.

Alternatively, he really is an impenetrable thickarse and/or a real Russian asset.

Thanks for posting. Excellent from Phillips as always - he thinks Trump's statement about realising Putin may be playing him along....is probably fake. Let's see if any actions back up Trump's words.
Agreed, his words mean nothing only action counts.

Whisper it quietly, but there are several items of good news in this from Prof. Gerdes.

First, ignore what Trump says. Focus on what he does.

'The US has privately agreed to provide security guarantees for British and EU troops deployed to Ukraine as part of the "coalition of the willing" according to the Telegraph.

Second, whether you are religious or not (and I'm not), look out Giorgia Meloni's comment at 07:12.

As ever, the proof will be in the pudding of course.

Yes, I was astonished when I read his complete LiesAntisocial post, realising then what practically the whole MSM had left out. If anything, his chiding of Putin was an afterthought.

I'm never sure about these 'privately agreed ' things, but then they're leaked.
Ok so it would be intelligence sharing and logistics, but I feel the US should be doing that anyway, given it's a peace deal that they're negotiating.
But it was an interesting video as he maybe looks at things from a slightly different angle.

He'a a republican, but I'm not sure if he's a MAGA supporter.

Judging from list of the 53 times he says Trump said he would stop the war in 24 hours, suggesting that it wasn't said in jest 53 times, I would guess that he isn't.

Absolutely - Trump didn't say it in jest at all IMO. It was a campaign statement but I think he actually believed he could bully Zelenskiy (and/or Putin?) into a ceasefire. Trump didn't think through any 'complexities', like Putin may not want to stop, or Ukraine may not want to surrender. Trump's arrogance about his own ability is breathtaking.
But 53 times, wow, good data gathering 👍.
