Some of the road signs say 8 weeks, I'm hoping that isn't that case.
Took me an hour to get from Brighton to Lewes this morning.

I believe it’s 1 lane during the day and then overnight is closed. Would love that to not be true but that’s how I’ve understood the following from national highways

“For safely, we’ll need to have day and nighttime lane closures, with speed restrictions and overnight closures of the A27.”

Bad enough trying to get through at 7am this morning.

If there's still lane restrictions on Wednesday night it'll be a nightmare. I came onto the A27 at dyke road roundabout 9.45 this morning heading East and took the Patcham turn off to go back up to dyke road roundabout and home 30 mins later 😲

Feel really sorry for anyone who had to be anywhere.

Same. I went through at 6:30am this morning and it was very very slow and my first thought was Wednesday is going to be carnage. I booked the bus with seagulls travel as it’s more convenient for midweek games but might get the train out and then bus back.

Took me an extra 15 minutes at 7pm this evening. Felt like about 3 miles of cones without a construction vehicle or tool in sight. Thanks guys, great work

I headed west on the A27 from Dyke Road at 9:30 am, other roads were a car park as a result eg the Sainsburys West Hove link road southbound … traffic heading east escaping the roadworks jam.

Looks like it's jammed back to the Hangleton Link Road at the moment.

Tomorrow will - as suggested above - be total carnage for anyone needing to use the Eastbound A27.

I do find it depressingly incredible that this sort of thing - cones left out, no one working - can still be allowed to happen on such a major road. How many hours of working time in the local economy will be lost in that traffic?

I've seen no signs out advising that this work was going to be taking place?

I live in westdene, managed to cut 30 mins off my journey this morning by going carden avenue, coldean lane and joining the 27 by the Amex, definitely my new route until it's back to normal.

Train it is tomorrow evening then. I tend to avoid the trains during evening games as it's always a shitshow. However, Southern Rail looks like it could be the lesser of two evils tomorrow (never thought I'd say that).
