Good luck today everyone, looking forward to this (not!).
Went Lewes, Ditchling, past Singing Hills GC and rejoined normal route near Upper Beeding, probably a it convoluted, but I prefer to be moving. How was it for everyone getting out of bridge and uni car parks yesterday? I had a family emergency type situation emerge early yesterday so couldn't make the trip, no doubt I'll get a telling off from the club lol.
How was the traffic in and out? I believe it'll still be there for West Ham so just curious.
Agreed, we left about 20-30 earlier than normal, and whilst the works added 15-20 misn to the journey, ZERO queue up the Hollingbury exit up to the roundabout so parked about 13.40 give or take. Nowhere near as bad as I feared.Left Essex 30 minutes earlier than usual, got to our parking at normal time.
On way back, joined A27 from top of Coldean Lane, no negligible effect on journey time.
Hang on you are classifying three standing and watching as workWent past yesterday evening - westbound at 8:30pm and eastbound about an hour later.
Both times - 5 people working, 2 in excavators, 3 standing and watching.
I know that's just a snapshot etc etc but if a representative workforce on that job is a crew of 5 then that's indicative of how Highways South East values people's time, livelihoods etc who are caught in the traffic everyday.
I dunno, I was just expecting a bit more resource being thrown at that job.
My local kebab shop has a crew of 5 working each evening
Whoever signs off on this work needs removing from office, as if it ain’t bad enough on the A27 some clown clearly gave the nod to some navies to to put roadworks on Coldean Lane under the flyoverThis is a joke, every f***ing morning it is chaos.
For their latest pathetic excuse you could try emailing Permit.Admin@brighton-hove.gov.ukWhoever signs off on this work needs removing from office, as if it ain’t bad enough on the A27 some clown clearly gave the nod to some navies to to put roadworks on Coldean Lane under the flyover
Perhaps there should be a boycott of the A27?There's never a good time to do highways maintenance. I very much doubt (in fact I know) the decision-makers in these situations think: "I know. Let's go with the plan that will piss off the most amount of motorists and make sure we drag it out as long as possible."
Yeah, it's annoying to be held up for a while, but cut the guys some slack, FFS!
Go straight to the ArgusPerhaps there should be a boycott of the A27?
I'll pop onto Facebook and suggest it.
The potholes are pretty deep, TBF.some clown clearly gave the nod to some navies to to put roadworks on Coldean Lane under the flyover
But why not just get it done? What's with making a plan to take weeks and weeks to complete the work? Just get it done. There's so much resurfacing required throughout the City and the Country more broadly. They should be rolling in, pitching up and getting the work done and moving onto the next job. It's ridiculous how much time all the various jobs are taking. There's never a good time to do highways maintenance. Actually to be fair to navies they worked a lot harder and faster than these 21st century clowns in high vizThe potholes are pretty deep, TBF.
Don’t forget to start a thread on here titled “boycott” and then nothing referring to it in the postPerhaps there should be a boycott of the A27?
