If you’re a parent and introduce yourself to someone you haven’t met before in a sporting or academic environment, do you regard yourself as the dad of or father of.

For me father is far too formal.

My kids call me dad. Therefore, I am the dad of.

Is it a class thing?

I use my first name and am very much a best friend figure to my offspring pals. We have a reciprocal method of connection that allows us all to nurture each others souls in a way that nourishes but doesn't define us.
So when are you discussing fatherhood on the high performance podcast?

My kids call me dad but in referring to my father I would say father. I say I'm the father of my 2 boys and I'm the grandfather of my 2 grandboys. Although the grandchildren follow my lead and call me grandpa. Nothing else.

I’m not a parent but I have always referred to my parents as my mother and father.
Although you're not a parent I have noticed that you do tell a lot of 'Dad' jokes and make a lot of silly puns (and very good you are at it too).

I think that makes you a faux pa

My podcast transmits on the whistling wind. You can get it by tuning into the frequency.

I am a staunch non tech user.

I think it used to be a class thing but much less so nowadays. Papa is used quite a bit in the old money circles.

Always dad. But where I live now (Estonia) they always use isa (father) or ema (mother). A small child might call thier father isi, but that's the nearest I've ever heard of something different being used.

Brighton factually.....
Daughter calls me one of two names dependent on what mood she and I are in.

Dad usually the go to name that gets shouted..

However over the last two years I get called "Mariah" quite a lot.

This is because the wife calls me Mariah, if she deems me to being a diva, or just having an alternative point of view that I want to get across.

Obviously after Mariah Carey

Done a Frexit, now in London
I'm the head of the house, I'm the watchman on the wall, I am the gatekeeper.

Father when introducing myself.
Dadda to my child.
