Why? Buonanotte's early season performances looked great, very direct, and great energy about him. Exactly what we may need. Pretty understanding that we've seen less of that once relegated to the bench and he's heard RVN comments about loan players.
Well Enciso, especially in the season we qualified for Europe put in so m any exciting performances, scored some cracking goals, and provided pleanty of assists too.

Buonanotte, for me anyway, was too lightweight and just didn't create enough. He hasn't exactly been a regular starter at Leicester either.

All about opinions of course!

He absolutely was a regular starter at Leicester, and doing very well - until Van Nistelroy came along, didn't like him and dropped him after one match. Leicester have been considerably worse since then.

Agree regarding Enciso. Would love to see him back.

And you're right that FB seemed lightweight a year ago, but this is a development loan and would seem a tad harsh to bin him off before we've had the chance to assess if he has in fact developed. He hasnt been a regular at Leicester because of RVN and his views about loans players, but early in the season when being used more by Steve Cooper he looked a great player. He had 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 games under Cooper, and then there was a drop off in minutes for him once RVN came in.

He'd been out for a long time injured. He hadn't scored for about a year and was desperate to end that run so he took more attempts.

His reaction at full time when we drew away at Brentford last season showed that he cared and was disappointed that he couldn't help us turn the draw into a win when he came on (seemed to be apologising to the fans for our failing to win)

His mazy runs, etc.. were to me at least, evidence of someone trying to change the result and trying to make a difference, giving the attack fresh impetus when we'd looked pretty toothless up to that point.

I’ve nothing against Enciso, would love him to become a star again with us.

The Leicester fans were getting quite Leedsy about Buonanotte until RVN took over:

Could have all been speculation, but I got the impression after he spent much of the 23-24 season injured that the club weren't very happy that he prioritised the Olympic tournament over doing any sort of preseason training with the club.
Brighton and Hove Albion's Julio Enciso's participation in the Olympics is connected to his lobbying of owner-chairman Tony Bloom. Enciso, a Paraguayan player, successfully convinced Bloom to release him from Brighton's pre-season tour to Japan in July 2024 so he could represent his national team in the Olympic Games. Enciso explained that he "told him, 'No, please, I want to be with my national team and represent my country,' I didn't lose faith and thank God it happened," according to The New York Times.

Enciso has 5 goals in 52 Premier League appearances.

He is not a player any top 10 Premier League club will be interested in. I thought that is where we want/expect to be. There is a reason he is playing for Ipswich and getting starts. He has scored once for them, that is all.

2115 minutes. He also has 7 assists, so that's a goal involvement every 176.25 minutes. Playing full 90s that's a goal or assist every other game. I'm stretching the point, but the reality is he's 21. He's missed virtually a whole season recovering from injury. They may not start him regularly right away, but I'm not sure any of the top ten would turn down a youngster with his potential. When Viktor Gyokeres was Encisco's age we'd sent him on loan to play for St Pauli in Bundesliga 2.

But then when you're in a situation like last weekend, where we need a goal and we don't have any forward options the manager trusts, it sort of suggests we've got the balance between looking at the horizon and trying to win our next game all wrong
We scored two decent goals v Brentford. And twice v City And Leicester, and a decent goal at Selhurst, And Hurzeler clearly trusts March, Minteh, Mitoma, Welbeck, O Riley and Adingra. Keeps picking and playing them anyway. Our problem at the moment - is letting them in at the other end where he has very Ltd options. (Injuries basically - not poor squad building) . Tough to have to score 3 or more to win games.

Agree with this. Anyone at Man Utd away would have seen that Enciso was saying goodbye to a lot more than a loan spell at Ipswich.
Yep. Hurzeler is it appears a sentimental old sausage and I sense it wasn’t just for tactical reasons that he brought on Gomez and Enciso together for those last couple of minutes.

No, of course he didn't, not when he wasn't playing - RDZ wanted to play Steele instead because he thought passing like Pirlo was more important for a GK than saving goals. RDZ got away with it for a third of a season - the rotation the next season cost us points. Not one of RDZ's best legacies.
