I would say we are 95% going to lose him this summer.

Probably for a LOT of money, possibly nearly as much as the Caicedo transfer.

Let's enjoy him, and sing his name, for the remainder of the season.

There's still a very remote chance we can keep him for another year.

We have a big problem because it feels inevitable he will be player of the season and do we have to go back to Shane Duffey to find a player who didn’t leave that summer?

When he misplaced a pass in the second half, someone in the WSU yelled "Get him off ffs".

The trouble is that is where we are as a crowd IMO.

There is such little confidence in what the manager is doing (whatever it actually is), people seem to jump on the slightest error, even from our best player….

He’s the one player we really need to keep hold of for one more season, absolutely immense.
I'd make the highest paid player.

Astonishingly talented player. I honestly don’t know where we would be this season without Baleba, we’re so reliant on him. Our player of the season by an absolute mile.

Absolutely this and watching him play, it's remarkable to remember that he only turned 21 in January given how he's carried the midfield; and by extension, the team this season.

A physically strong, robust, technically adroit and versatile player. His development has been remarkable.

Oh yes. And he's also consistently fit and available for selection. In this Brighton squad that is, in itself, equally remarkable.

Given we seemed in pre season to be putting our midfield faith in James 'minor injury' Milner and Mats 'wheelchair' Wieffer, we have good reason to be grateful for Carlos' contribution.

We have to do everything possible to keep him this summer. I genuinely don't care who else we sell. But not Carlos.

But If Caicedo was worth £115million then, with three years left on his contract, Carlos is worth so much more.

I don’t have it in me to criticise anyone today (except Adingra in the first half ) as I thought everyone gave 100% percent and looked like they really cared. Crowd sounded great for most of the game too. I am not convinced by Fab but that team gave their all for him today, so they obviously back him when the chips are down. Really enjoyed the game and would not have been ranting if we’d ended up losing. 100% from the players is all you can expect and I think they gave that.

Baleba is an absolute beast wherever he plays and I hope TB will hold off on letting him go. Caicedo money may force his hand though

Just thought West Ham were shocking and we were marginally better.

The second half we lost our way.

I may be the minority, but I really wasn’t impressed today. Dunk saved us at times, the decision making was abysmal on a number of occasions

But s you know, for me winning is everything, so thankful for the last 5 mins and Baleba

I don’t think I’m going to ever stop watching that goal. Possibly the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on a football pitch!

He’s our best midfielder and also our best defender. I think if we played him up front or on the wing, we’d probably find out he’s our best striker and winger too. A unique talent.

With Mac Allister, Caicedo, Mwepu (sadly so briefly) and now Baleba we really have had some incredible midfielders in recent years. When you remember how much Bissouma raised the standard, only for the bar to move even higher, it’s phenomenal recruitment.
Indeed, the only season we have finished on more points was with the premier leagues most expensive player alongside a world cup winner as the double pivot. That side was amazing
