I was at the Newport game and at the time thought their player should've been sent off for jumping in studs up. It was a classic case of the ref sending someone off for the result but not the offence.
Got chatting to a couple of Newport fans who seemed to have a serious hatred for us ever since that red card, saying it was deliberate and unnecessary.
How do we feel about Newport?
Are those two Newport fans a minority or does anyone know any Newport fans who think different?
Wrong, me and the boy had just parked up in Chesterfield and the locals started having ago. If anyone watches Emmerdale I was definitely getting Dingle vibesI assume no one here hates Chesterfield anymore?
Was this in sheep queue?Got chatting to a couple of Newport fans who seemed to have a serious hatred for us ever since that red card, saying it was deliberate and unnecessary.

I’ve sat in a couple of funerals down the years and thought I was in the wrong service given the tributes bestowed on the departed.Foul mouthed arse in a league cup game.
But when he passed there was nothing but positive comments. Weird.

I guess now that everything is done online, there is no need for brown envelopes anymore?I assume no one here hates Chesterfield anymore?
Yep l've felt the same. Maybe l was at the same funerals.I’ve sat in a couple of funerals down the years and thought I was in the wrong service given the tributes bestowed on the departed.![]()
They got a 9 point deduction and we finished 12 above them.Wasn’t that a brilliant moment, the points deduction? Effectively handing an honest club, us, the title.
Interesting recap.

Or maybe weird people like football?Football makes people weird
Ermmmm . . . no. I was 7 years old at the time.I've never forgiven the thugs from Darlington who crocked Bert McGonigal at the Goldstone in 1963....
Anyone else remember that?
Yes, I do. He finished up hobbling on the left wing. No subs in those days!I've never forgiven the thugs from Darlington who crocked Bert McGonigal at the Goldstone in 1963....

I remember in the distant past when they played at their old ground a coin hit a linesman on the head in an FA Cup game - think their manager was Peter Beadle at the timeI have seen segregation mentioned on the Eastbourne Borough v Worthing thread, I remember when Newport played at Lewes there was segregation because the Newport fans caused problems on their previous visit to the Dripping Pan.
This would have been around 2008
The match the Newport fans were segregated i didn’t see any trouble and they just seemed like decent non league fans that day.
Abusive fans throw beer at keeper
Beer was thrown at Lewes goalkeeper Scott Ward as trouble broke out during Saturday's home match with Newport County.www.theargus.co.uk
Ye but Barton really is a total scumbag so anyone who employs him is of questionable morals.I'd add that Calderon's first concern was for the welfare of his opponent: https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/10598473.calderon-visits-crocked-opponent/. Not the reaction of the type who would deliberately set out to injure someone. This is just a case of football's partisanship making liars of fans. It happens to us all. (Especially fans of teams employing Joey Barton).
This is what football is about! Keep grudges going no matter how long!!I've never forgiven the thugs from Darlington who crocked Bert McGonigal at the Goldstone in 1963....
