That you want to take the conversation about Trump and turn it into something entirely different that I'm indeed not even allowed (or willing) to comment on... you do that because you've missed the entire point (= that the US and its leadership is resembling a number of previous fascist regimes). In your head, we're doing some sort of internal ranking list over the best and worst fascists out there. In reality most people in this thread are pretty much just saying "we don't like fascists and this Trump guy has a lot fascist tendencies". Not sure why you want to fight these perspectives with fire and sword.

We do I am sure but I wasn’t just referring to the Shoah in my initial critical response - the Final Solution was just the culmination of an ideology and policies about Jews that was going on for years before they started gassing them. Hence - One can simply not make casual comparisons to Nazi Germany as if that persecution was not central to Nazi ideology.

No there isn’t but if people make false accusations against me of claiming ‘antisemitism’ as a means of shutting down those that “disagree with anything I say” that is offensive - because it is designed to hurt and done in the full knowledge that I am Jewish - it’s an argument that has been lodged against Jews a lot lately vis a vis criticism of Israel but I am not one those people.

However, I do feel ’Antisemitism‘ is a serious issue and like the “Nazi Regime” should not be thrown around as tropes to win the internet or weaponised by Non-Jews or Jews alike. (That isn’t necessarily directed at anyone personally btw)

As For Trump and his minions, I agree wholeheartedly with most others on this forum who recognise elements of Trump’s behaviour as dictatorial and has the seeds of fascism. I’ve been highlighting that on this thread since he was first elected and have no qualms continuing to say so myself or read others saying the same thing.
