‘Be Cool’: Trump Faces Growing Rebellion in His Own Party​

Knewz.com is reporting that President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs have raised concerns about market stability. In a recent speech, Trump declared his first 100 days in office the "most successful" in U.S. history while dismissing congressional apprehensions.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson drew mockery from Democrats online after he was seen reading news about the declining stock market during Trump's speech. A number of Republicans have publicly denounced Trump's tariffs, including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and Susan Collins of Maine.


It's like a huge ship trying to make a turn. It's a slow process but there is some bollox growth among the Republican politicians. It'll take a long time and Trump will never admit it is happening. It also may never amount to the change that the US sorely needs.

Trump wants D.C.’s homeless out of sight. Experts say that doesn’t help.​

D.C. has cleared 21 homeless encampments this year and more are scheduled for later this month and May, city officials said this week. More than 40 people were living at those encampments and encouraged to move elsewhere, according to the city.

The sweeps, which officials insist have always been part of their approach to homelessness, come as President Donald Trump repeatedly puts pressure on Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) to address D.C’s crime and cleanliness. In early March, Trump told Bowser that the city needed to remove encampments by the State Department and White House or that federal officials would be “forced to do it for her.” Later that month, Trump issued an executive order that included a directive for the National Park Service to remove all homeless encampments from federal land in the District.

It appears that the Pope can see through Trump and Vance's Christian facade. It might be an interesting meeting if he gets to meet Vance who met his deputy during Vance's visit to the Vatican yesterday. From reading this article if a meeting between Vance and the Pope does take place, the Pope is less likely to be as diplomatic as his deputy and is more likely to tell Vance what a c*nt he thinks he is....

It's just brought to mind John Cooper Clarke's hairdresser joke.... in fact it could be rewritten for Vance who on returning to the US smugly recounts his meeting with the Pontiff when a journalist asks "what was the most memorable part of your meeting with the Pope? " and Vance replies, "well it was a very short meeting because of his Holyness's recent illness, but he did ask me one question....we sat down and his Holyness looks at me and he asked, 'who cuts your boss's f***ing hair?'

Trump poised to be 'called on the carpet' as 'outrageous' excuses fail: ex-prosecutor​

According to former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade, the courts are beginning to lose patience with Donald Trump and members of his administration and a reckoning is coming.

During an appearance on MSNBC with host Ali Velshi, McQuade was asked about the legal setbacks Trump's DOJ has suffered this past week which included a late-night ruling from the Supreme Court halting shipping more immigrants out of the U.S.

"The most outrageous argument I think they made in the past week was arguing that when the court ordered that the government facilitate his [Kilmar Abrego Garcia's] release from custody in an El Salvador prison all that mean was if he should somehow find his way to the border of the United States, the United States should let. him in, There is no way that that's what the court meant when it said 'facilitate' his release from custody in El Salvador," she pointed out.

"This is a complete denial of the constitutional right to due process and so you're right, so far they seem to be, you know, using every excuse other than my dog ate it," she added. "But at some point they're going to get called on the carpet and the question will be whether they say they get to do it anyway."
