Gillingham is absolutely nothing to do with the current season. I love the way that so manty supporters say they were at Gillingham and at Hereford. that is condemned to the history books. As for the here and now, we've had a crap season, in my opinion the signings we made in the summer, have not worked out and ,for me, I'm yet to be convinced about the manager.
The first part..yep, no relevance at all.
As for the 'here and now', you think it's been 'crap'? Why - because we haven't reached your (and a lot of others) expectations?
That is a little 'entitled', if you forgive me for saying so.
We are holding our own, tasted Europe, not in immediate danger of relegation - and haven't (afaik) been in the bottom 3 since promotion.
I never dreamt we'd get here, let alone be here for so many years...and counting.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

A season lasts 9 months, which technically is 3 astronomical seasons in length and moreover August to May actually intersects all 4 seasons, but I digress…

Given that the football season is a long event (or series of events, games or matches if you will) and has provided enough entertainment to exceed the disappointments of recent weeks, it has in my opinion and in the main been more enjoyable than not.
Which was more than I expected, after we sacked the last manager. ???

There is an interesting but ultimately unhelpful phenomenon of the convenient last straw.
By that I mean that for numerous reasons it is getting a bit of a pain travelling to home matches, isn't it.
So the apparent total utter, and utterly total collapse of all that was once decent about the club . . .
has provided some people with a convenient excuse for declining their season ticket renewal.

I mean....I'm getting a bit feeble, what with my knee and back.
The drive is lengthy. And repetitive.
My son normally falls asleep in the car.
The beer in the pre match bar is the wrong temperature.
It is such a long walk up the west upper stairs.
Same beer and pie every match. Boring.
We don't always win.
When are we going to win a trophy?
Five matches without a win.
The manager has funny hair.
It was all so much better, back in the day......

I'm OU......... To be continued. Maybe. Someday.

No, it feels like we as fans have been conned into thinking we’re much better than we are, the 7-0 still fucks me off, the FA cup still fucks me off, the Palace loss of six points still fucks me off the Leicester City draw still fucks me off, today fucks me off and guess what l, Harry f***ing potter and his bunch of House Elves rock up next week and will turn us over bigs time and i’m f***ed off already. All of this shit show has happened in the last few months, something not right isn’t it???

Still we’re in the Prem ( who knows how much longer) we’ve got padded seats and a fan zone

You don't think our injury problems have had anything to do with it?
Maybe Drew, to be fair it feels like we’ve been talking about injuries for years… yes, injuries have played a part, but that doesn’t get fabs entirely out of an occasional visit to tactical/selection ineptitude jail… all too regular failures, without evidencing a suitable level of learning…

You enjoyed Hughton's swan song season?

I was leaving home matches at 80, 70 and even 65 minutes towards the end.

The results were shit and we didn't even look like there was any chance of anything different happening anytime. Let alone soon.

I recommend reading up on recency bias.
I stayed to the end of all of the last days of hughton.
It wasn't always easy, but I did it.

He had a lot less to support him than the last 3 managers have had.

I stayed to the end today, but I was frothing at the mouth after Verbruggen's suicidal pass that ended in their second goal.

The last days of hughton were frustrating because we simply didn't have the players to do anything else.
The current crop are streets ahead of that squad, but the execution is utter dogshit at times.

North Stand Chat has always been a bit of a binfest. But nonetheless, when did so many of our fans become such whingy cry babies?
I guess you either didn’t read the question or didn’t understand it.

It’s not a poll on the Head Coach’s job or a statement that we should be beating teams like Brentford or speculation on Tony Bloom’s mood. It’s asking if you’ve enjoyed the season.

And if you have enjoyed spending a vast amount of money watching a wet behind the ears coach get a Premier League lesson and a £200 million transfer window morph into either “not ready” or “old and knackered” then I salute you :salute:

The super fan badge is in the post, signed by Paul Barber 👍

I’m not sure Lamptey counts as he’s been injured pretty much forever, Milner too - not ever likely to stay fit for long… so, removing those two from the equation we’re kind of level with several teams who’ve had better seasons than us… Newcastle, Bournemouth and at a stretch Arsenal… who’ve had a MILES better season than us whilst playing in Europe…

I realise you’re a big time fan of the club and whoever our Coach is, but I’m not convinced Fabs would be doing much better with a fully fit squad… our weakness at the heart of defence would remain an issue, and tactically he’s naive and tbh I’m not sure he’d be able to pick the right team even if we had everyone fit… he doesn’t get it right when he’s only got 13 to pick from ffs.

With Webster and Rutter, we were flying.
If they had stayed fit and we had two more wins where would the Fab OUT crowd be?

Football is a game that depends on moments. Against Man Utd (for example) these moments went our way, today they didn't. Dunk has been throwing himself in front of shots for forever - mostly he saves certain goals. Today he deflected two past Bart that might otherwise have been saved. These things happen.

Brighton has been in the top division for about 10% of its existence. We're now in 10th place, above a host of clubs that have won national and international cups in living memory.

Anyone voting for Fab OUT - please go back and re-read our results since the beginning of 2025, then tell us which manager could be available and would improve on these results.
