It is certainly ending rather disappointingly. For me, I didn't enjoy our massive spending spree - it didn't feel like the Brighton way, not like 'my team'. I have felt less connection with the team than I have for years. Rutter has come good of late, and Kadioglu was the only one who looked 'right' from the get-go in the few games he actually managed to play. If we'd just bought those two - and maybe Gomez, who looks promising, I think I might have felt less disaffected.
Oh well, onwards and upwards to the close season!

We won't be relegated.

What more did people expect - the Spanish Inquisition?
After spending over £200m and loaning out young South Americans who were seen as our future stars , I expected much much more

10o% bloody disappointment of a season

I guess you either didn’t read the question or didn’t understand it.

It’s not a poll on the Head Coach’s job or a statement that we should be beating teams like Brentford or speculation on Tony Bloom’s mood. It’s asking if you’ve enjoyed the season.

And if you have enjoyed spending a vast amount of money watching a wet behind the ears coach get a Premier League lesson and a £200 million transfer window morph into either “not ready” or “old and knackered” then I salute you :salute:

The super fan badge is in the post, signed by Paul Barber 👍
I have a feeling that despite you assertion, you do have your doubts about the head coach and feel that we probably should be beating teams like Brentford, and perhaps even feel that the owner may not be best pleased with it all.

But I could be wrong.

I have a feeling that the hardcore fans who go home and away haven’t enjoyed throwing away two 2-0 leads in the last five minutes, losing 4-2 away in West London twice thanks to naive tactics, losing 7-0, not having a proper shot against Everton, losing twice to Palace, having a bang average home record and playing high pressing football with a defence that either resembles Dad’s Army or a kindergarten.

But I’m just checking.

If they had stayed fit and we had two more wins where would the Fab OUT crowd be?

Football is a game that depends on moments. Against Man Utd (for example) these moments went our way, today they didn't. Dunk has been throwing himself in front of shots for forever - mostly he saves certain goals. Today he deflected two past Bart that might otherwise have been saved. These things happen.

Brighton has been in the top division for about 10% of its existence. We're now in 10th place, above a host of clubs that have won national and international cups in living memory.

Anyone voting for Fab OUT - please go back and re-read our results since the beginning of 2025, then tell us which manager could be available and would improve on these results.

I think it’s 90% what players you have. I think Taggart Ferguson once said something similar. Newcastle and Villa edge away from us, well their wages/fees spend is on another level. They’re season doesn’t derail with a CB getting injured. For the second season in a row we’ve had a vast number of lengthy injuries. Last season it killed creativity, this destroyed defensive options. Forest lucked out with low injuries, but they’re faltering compared to most mega spenders. Always outliers of course eg not spending like Arsenal, Chelsea and Mancs x2, but over seasons money talks.

I voted fence, because of the injuries.

But I wouldn’t be shocked if TB made a change. TB knows the full story, if players are generally improving.

Refusing to answer the question about whether you have doubts about the head coach?
Weasel words. Just what we expect from the leader of the opposition, who....

Christ. Bad trip. Flashbacks to 'nam.

(PS I like the home and away "look at me, I'm better qualified to have an opinion" insert, there.
The days of "onlyathome" are a distant memory it would seem.
Perhaps you should adjust posting right here so that only those who go home and away are permitted to comment.
No point letting slackers have a say.... ???)

I have massive doubts about our baby coach. I’ve posted them on several other threads today.

That’s not what THIS thread is about however.

OK. Missed that.

If I'm honest (which occasionally I am) I suspect that we should probably get rid.
It isn't just about getting shafted. Sheff U get shafted but they still love Wilder. By and large.
Sadly the main reason I feel like this is because I find him a bit peculiar, with his weird hair transplant.
So when we go on a bad run.....I have tried to not cave in to base prejudices, but...
Call me shallow.....

If we go on a terrific run to end the season I'm happy to retract that.
But I admit that I am biased instinctively towards charismatic blokey blokes.
Not tooth sucking polytechnic lecturerers, or weird Germans with funny hair (and a strange face).
Shit, I have done it now. No way back from that :lolol:

So what you really mean is you don’t want a Lego man for a manager, I get that.

Most of our fanbase will be happy because they’re not winners. Our mindset is all wrong IMO.
But that would then be the case for most of the last 120 years.

I see it all in a left field way, or perhaps not so left field. It is what it is, I have no control over what goes on in a match. I love every season because It's football and there's so much more to it than the Albion. Them doing well is the bonus that some seasons offer. But even then, my love for it all remains. After a disappointing defeat at anyone, within half an hour I'm looking to see who is most likely to take the play off places in League Two and checking out how many seasons in their history Colchester United have spent in the upper two leagues. Oh, and the 6-0 home win against them in the 70s. When was that ? I remember hearing it on the radio and writing the score out in the exercise book mum got me. Then I'm of on all my tangents that the game sends me on. I love it. And then it's off to @Hiney programme site.

So, we may not make Europe. Never mind. We may finish tenth, thus we have occupied 6th, 9th, 10th and 11th in the last 4 seasons. I'd say that's pretty good. I'd like 7th and 8th to complete the statistical set. I wonder if Albion have occupied every position in the football league after a day's set of fixtures. That's another hole I can jump down.

What was the score today, I forgot ? :ROFLMAO:

I don’t know why people pretend it hasn’t been a disappointment. In a way I feel sorry for TB he’s invested heavily and unfortunately lucked out with the choice of manager. I’m one for moving on quickly after a mistake has been made.
Even with a young Potter (I wasn’t his biggest fan) you could see what he was trying to do on the pitch. RDZ changed it for the better very quickly. FH has shown nothing like the previous two managers sadly. Better to move on IMO.

You and I are peas out of the same pod.

Which may come as a disappointment to one or both of us :lolol:

Or possibly neither of us

The new Fanzone with Amex mezzanine, exciting plans for the club shop, we played well for a while after the 7-0 and it’s lovely seeing beautiful football from Dibling, Archer, Mbeumo, Wissa and Soumaré. After Priestfield, known as a ‘pinch yourself’ moment.

Neither of us my friend.

After writing that I found out that Torquay played at Truro in the National League South. I saw pictures of their fans on the train. I then find myself looking on Google Maps deciding which route I would have taken by road and whether or not it was Newton Abbot they would have changed at (it was).

Years ago I did this in real time when following Albion, nowadays I just follow everyone else.

And, yes, I have spent time before looking at the route from Faversham to the AMEX, had I been in your location :ROFLMAO:

The question I need to ask is, on lighter days, do you ever come the Tunny Wells route ?

I’m not sure Lamptey counts as he’s been injured pretty much forever, Milner too - not ever likely to stay fit for long… so, removing those two from the equation we’re kind of level with several teams who’ve had better seasons than us… Newcastle, Bournemouth and at a stretch Arsenal… who’ve had a MILES better season than us whilst playing in Europe…

I realise you’re a big time fan of the club and whoever our Coach is, but I’m not convinced Fabs would be doing much better with a fully fit squad… our weakness at the heart of defence would remain an issue, and tactically he’s naive and tbh I’m not sure he’d be able to pick the right team even if we had everyone fit… he doesn’t get it right when he’s only got 13 to pick from ffs.
Not sure you can pick and choose who to include on the injury list.

Yes, I am a fan, home and away but your comment about 'whoever our coach is' couldn't be more wrong. Couldn't stand the narcissist Poyet and once in the EPL, couldn't wait to get rid of Hughton and his negativity. Fab is a young coach and has made mistakes but you can't lose the likes of Pedro, Ferdi, Veltman, Dunk, Julio etc and it not affect our results.
