I was not born in LEEDS  My mother did work there as a nurse though so spooky you said that!

I was born in Nottingham!

and I only gave up yesterday, not bad for a newbie of 25 years 😲

Thank f*** I didn’t support this club singing one of my most hated songs!

You silly sausage. I know where you were born. I was just mucking about (the other post). The one to which you replied had nowt to do with you (as we say up Yorkshire way; a part of the country I didn't visit till I was in my 30s, weirdly)

I know you’re an old timer (or I think you are?) so your positivity is refreshing! It’s like I was when I was young before I got ground down by much more disappointment than joy at football matches. It does make the great escapes or unexpected late runs particularly special though. I really hope that you are right
But when it's special, it really is. Where else will you get that feeling of utter joy. (Arsenal 0 Brighton 3, walking out of The Emirates thinking, cherish this, it's never going to happen again.)

Back in the day when I were a nipper and my only connection with the Albion was through Dad's newspapers, I used to pore over the league tables in the Sunday paper frantically calculating to the last minute what we could do mathematically - could we still get promoted, or more often (it seemed, though obviously we've been promoted more than relegated since we were in division 3(S) - whether we could escape the drop.
Now I'm a tad more resigned to our fete - whatever that might be. Yes, I know mathematically we could still finish third, but I know damn well we won't! And yes, I'm quite sanguine about it. I'll be surprised if we do nick the final European spot; pleased, but surprised. It is what it will be.
It's a public function, typically held outdoors and organized to raise funds for a charity, including entertainment and the sale of goods and refreshments. But that's not important now

Yes-
Pedro and Mitoma, arguably our two world class players, switched off after the international break back home -these guys are superstars - it's hard to knuckle down to Pizza from Lidl after ten days in Japan/Brazil.
Then- There's no World Cup, so less motivation. Our players/management only have to hold on to tenth to 'meet targets', so it's been #deckchairs after the cup defeat.
So - we see this one out, get in shape for the start of the next season (everyone fit, see off any stroppers, fill in the gaps, get fit, work hard, don't fall out with each other)
And anyway - Conference League looks an arse-ache to me - the usual poisoned chalice in terms of impacting league form and injuries with away games to potato fields in the far-flung corners of Europe.

Same goals next season - moonshot at Champions League, stay in top 10, process the talent, highs and lows, follow the stripes

Nope. These next remaining games could be season-defining.

These are a good run-in.

At the end of my tether
It depends on your expectations. I don’t believe this squad is ready or European football. We did alright last time but we we re a better team then .
Right now we are still a top ten club. After Nottingham Forest stuffed us for seven , we rallied and won the next four matches. It could happen again, you never know….

We were never good for the champions league, nor IMO ,the Europer league. The conference is still very much on I think.
TBH, I think it's gone now - the team just seems so flat. That's a shame, because until recently we were well up for it. Can't understand the people saying they don't want the Conference; is it really beneath us? Seems the ultimate in entitlement to poo-poo it - it would be great for us to have another season in Europe, perhaps at a more appropriate level for us.
I'm certainly not snobbish or entitled enough to not want the Conference - I'd love it if we could sneak in - but I think we've just run out of - well, everything really.

The first half of this suggests an incredibly low opinion of our players, manager and coaches.

The second suggests that next season will start afresh will all forgiven.

That's impressive, I am not sure I would bother if I believed that the players and staff couldn't be arsed at the end of the season with Europe in their sights.
