So, this man and his (?) stooges are changing the world order....
what if the prime reason is actually minerals?wanting Greenland for security and being a Russian stooge seem incompatible, so expansionist it is.
What the hell can anyone do? The 79m who voted for him gave him the keys to the door and now he's charging around smashing the place up.So. Does the world just roll over and allow this big orange baby to drag the planet into a global recession? Or does a grown-up step in at some point? Answers on a postcard please...
Or does the world start to realise they don’t need the US? Like counties weaned themselves off Russian gas maybe we can let them get on with it and the rest of the world can all trade and work with each other? So. Although this doesn't apply to us because we're out of the evil EU and have the sPeSHaL reLaTioNsHiP.Or does the world start to realise they don’t need the US? If Trump wants a new world order let him have it?
I think if the US really does go toe to toe with China, there's only one winner. And it's not the one with Trump in charge. That's not saying that China being the dominant force and global leader is the best way forward, but I don't think Trump has the patience, intelligence or support to completely change the course of the US.Or does the world start to realise they don’t need the US? Yes, I do hope that our political leaders finally realise that the "special relationship" no longer exists (assuming it ever did - was more special to post-Empire Britain than the US).Or does the world start to realise they don’t need the US? Another Brexit/Remain referendum would be very timelyYes, I do hope that our political leaders finally realise that the "special relationship" no longer exists (assuming it ever did - was more special to post-Empire Britain than the US).
But of course, acknowledging this this would make Brexit look like an even bigger act of delusional national self-harm!
…and he’s also many other thingsIs Trump a Russian stooge or just a very dangerous America 1st expansionist?
Both.
Yep. When we had our own misguided wrecker in Number 10, the men in grey suits did what was necessary. The US system gives far too much power to the executive. The president is like a monarch, but with political rather than ceremonial power. In terms of the lack of fairness in hereditary power, I have always been instinctively anti monarchist, but once I studied politics, I realised that our system has it's advantages. Of course we had a civil war, restoration and 'glorious' bloodless revolution to get to it. (88/89 years before they wrote the constitution that they seem to think was the first word in democracy). What the hell can anyone do? the President was suppposed to be very unlike a monarch, with limited actual power. Congress is supposed to wield the real power, the trouble is they seem happy to go along with Trump at present. and as they largely got voted in on that mandate, they'll carry on for a while.Yep.
