Is it fvck, lol.

Do you have any idea of how many poisonous plants you are surrounded by on a daily basis?
It is when it's left out to harm an animal.

This is a serious post and I'm looking for help or some advice as another resident of where I live has threatened to f**king get rid of my Terry and also said he would KILL him. I've reported him to the manager of here who has done nothing , this has been going on for a bit now as he left out poisonous plants to hope Terry would chew on them. The housing management of the council have done nothing , made it out to be Terry's fault and they are on this idiots side. I've spoken to the police and they've been around this morning but I don't what they will do as they haven't done much before.
I know there are some very good people on here who helped Terry before so anyone who has any ideas I'd be most grateful as I couldn't face anything happening to him.

This isn't really a rational point is it? Unless the villian of the piece is leaving out bowls of cat food mixed with chopped up lillies and daffodils, I have no idea how they can be left ouf for a cat.

Left out, how exactly?

I don't think cats in particular are in the habit of casually nibbling on any old plants, unless they know exactly what the plant is and why they're nibbling on it.

Exactly!

Putting out bait is totally different to putting out 'poisonous plants.'

Enrest hasn't explained how these poisonous plants are being put out.

I suspect we're all being whoosed anyway.

Terry is an indoor cat, the plant was deliberately put in a communal planter which has been empty for ages. The guy threatening him is on the same floor who has 'issues' and he has threatened other residents here, threatened to rape some of the women amongst other nice things. The council and the manager of this place have done nothing to stop him.
He accused Terry of chewing on one of his other plants and reported him to the police for acting maliciously which is what started it off

I'm sorry to read this, Ernest, and I know how you feel. I had a neighbour who decided my cat was targeting his garden (he wasn't) and threatened to poison him. I was very upset and in the end, my cat went to live with my cousin. The neighbour moved a couple of years later.

It reads like this neighbour has mental health problems, threatening other residents, and especially the women. Can you get together to make a joint complaint to the council, rather than piecemeal? It might have a bit more sway?

I can't add anything more than mentioned above re RSPCA and making sure that you have a record of any conversations with the Police & manager.
I wish you well, I'd be really upset if this were to happen to my pussy cat.

If it wasn't serious that alone is very funny. Reporting to the police, a cat being malicious, really?

He has issues.

Well in that case, I'm very sorry to hear that.

Sounds like the neighbour has some mental health issues, in which case, I hope they can get help so that they, and all of you having to put up with the consequences, can see a way out of the mess.

I have a friend with a similar neighbour problem. The police are just sticking plasters unfortunately. What the person in question really needs is help with their mental health. Those services are not very easy to access these days, sadly.

In the meantime, as your cat is already an indoor cat, I'd be making sure you keep him that way for his own safety until anything changes on the neighbour front.

Best of luck.

Yesterday my neighbour's cat caught a mouse at the bottom of my garden then padded, mouse in mouth, straight back towards my patio doors through which it could see me watching it.

To my delight, just as it was about to reach me it turned 90 degrees, jumped onto my kitchen garden sofa, over the fence, into my neighbour's garden and through her open patio door... A lovely surprise for her I'm sure.

Ernest not a good read old mate, the RSPCA is probably your best bet as many have commented on here, the Police seem to be overstretched as it is at the moment so its probably a waste of time on that front.

Take care mate, and if you want to chat give us a call.

Was I the only person opening this thread expecting to find out that TERRY was a euphemism for Enrest's manhood or something similar?

There seem to be a few elements to this situation. It’s good the police are involved, and not good the Housing Association seem disinterested. They have a responsibility following certain procedures, you need to hold them to that.
Keep clear written records of all the conversations you have had with them and the instances of threats from your neighbour. Are the police and housing association aware of the threats to your other neighbours so they can get a full picture of the person they are dealing with?
It sounds like a MH issue which the police will involve other services in if they have enough evidence.
Keep written records.
The link gives responsibilities for Housing
Association and steps that can be taken if they are not taking the situation seriously and a complaint can be taken against the landlord/housing association.
Citizens Advice may also be in a position to advise.
Good luck sounds like a stressful and upsetting situation.

I think firstly you should get together with the other neighbours and report him to the council & the manager (continuously).
Even if he does have mental health issues that doesn't give him the right to intimidate you, other residents & threaten violence. You should all start keeping logs of incidences. If you can use your phone to slyly record voice conversations, even better.

I'd suggest a bit of weed killer in the plant pot but that risks escalating things. If the plant is a Lily just cut the stamens off it. The plant is intact but isn't a danger to Terry. Get in contact with the RSPCA as others have said as well.

I hope it gets sorted quickly as it's not nice that you should be feeling so worried.

Can't really add any more than has already been said, but I hope Terry is OK. Anyone who is abusive – in any way – to an animal, regardless of their state of mind, is a proper berk in my book.
