[Music] People who have lead/formed 3 proper big bands or more

A big band is only and always only ever what is big in my tiny mind.

Or else it is just
The Beatles,
The Rolling Stones
Bob Dylan
The Who
Led Zeppelin
The Grateful Dead
Hot Chocolate
Mud
The Sweet
The Partridge Family
The Osmonds,
Girls Allowed
Boyzone
Bread
Yes
Emerson Lake and Palmer
Black Sabbath,
Muse
Coldfuckingplay
and f***ing Queen

As the great Roy Keane once said,
You can shove that (lot) up your bollocks.
Fact.

I fear that the definition of a 'proper big band' might be if they have been at least 3rd on the bill at the V festival or some such.

i.e. at least as culturally important as Kings of Leon, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers. Or "KKKtK" as I think of them.

Midge Ure: Slik, Rich Kids, Ultravox, Visage, Bandaid
Ah, saw him play a few months ago, and his brilliant set was not only heavy on Ultravox stuff (naturally), but started-off with Marching Men by the Rich Kids, and included Fade to Grey by Visage.

Lead in a group is an interesting one . . . . Not always or often the singer/front man. The who being a good example.

Weller lead the Jam, without doubt . . . . Mike Barson probably lead Madness?

Ian Dury was Ian Dury . . . . The BLockheads are all leaders. . . . .

Supergroups like Cream are an oddity . . . JAck Bruce leader, Clapton the rising star. Baker . . . Unmanageable loose cannon?!
Great drummer, but his personal life and personality were a disaster.

Have you seen the documentary film "Beware of Mr Baker"? It starts with him hitting (unprovoked) the presenter in the face with a metal walking stick and breaking his nose!

You’ll also be shocked to know that I have never heard of him or any of the bands you mentioned
Wow - you haven't lived! No clue what your tastes are like but listen to "Black Hole Sun" "Fell on Black Days" "Burden in My Hand" "Like a Stone" "Be Yourself" and "Hunger Strike"

Cornell also performed the Bond song "You Know My Name"

From a quick cursory listen on youtube - Nothing to dislike but pretty dirgy in the main and nothing musically that I haven’t heard from other bands since getting into music in the mid 60s.

I confess to avoiding music radio these days as 90% of the music I hear is shit, or worn out overplayed old pop songs. What you have suggested obviously isn’t shit, in fact it’s quite pleasant but it doesn’t spark a desire to hear more
