A fifth for the Toon - happy?Come on Newcastle. More goals required

Don't get the hype with that kid. Pacy and clever but gives it away so much. That was brilliant: Wharton on the edge of the Newcastle box, looking for space to shoot and tripped over his own feet![]()
Confirming, yet again, that xG is essentially bollocksNewcastle xG: 1.28
Palace xG: 1.71
Lovely ain't it?Hoping for a Newcastle win, by as many goals as possible.
Ive said this ever since it started being used , along with a load of the other stats that are trotted out , there is only one stat that matters at the end of a game. Even something apparently as straightforward as possession is no longer an indicator of who is doing better in a game. There are simply too many variables in style of play, wind direction and speed, length of grass, etc ! . The "win probability" is another made up stat to simply encourage betting and give clueless commentators something to drone on about. All these stats are basically a case of "emperors new clothes"Confirming, yet again, that xG is essentially bollocks
They'll be fine. Only Bournemouth, Arsenal, Villa then Forest and their difficult run of fixtures is over.Nice that Palace have used their game in hand to slip even further behind us.
Taken 6 pts from us and still 5 pts behind and -6 GD.
Super Oli Glasner.
As a measure of what the score should have been, yes it's bollocks.Palace get a good old fashioned beating, which is fair enough. But can we now say XG is absolutely bollocks. Newcastle XG 1.39 palace XG 2.0…so how does that measure with a 5.0 thrashing ??
That their finishing is even worse than ours.Palace get a good old fashioned beating, which is fair enough. But can we now say XG is absolutely bollocks. Newcastle XG 1.39 palace XG 2.0…so how does that measure with a 5.0 thrashing ??
