I think he stopped during that penalty, which isn't allowed anyway.

I remember being called up for stopping whilst playing at school.... er, around 44 years ago. FFS!

I was just reading that Palace aren’t very happy with the PL. Semi final weekend they were due to play Arsenal at Emirates & that fixture now been rearranged for next Wednesday, a few days before their day out at Wembley. I sense the five a game spiral could start again!

Palace would have moaned no matter when it was re-arranged to play. Because of Arsenals CL semi finals (admittedly potential when they actually arranged the new date) there was only 3 midweeks available. Either next week, the midweek before the final or in the final week of the season (3 or 4 days after said final). If they beat Villa they wouldn’t want it just before the final, and I doubt they’d want Arsenal and Liverpool in the last 4 or 5 days of the season either.

You are allowed to stop/start during the run up but you aren’t allowed to stop, stutter, pause etc once you’ve placed your foot next to the ball and are in the motion of kicking the ball.

🤞

That would be lovely. If they could get battered by arsenal and then a few days later embarrass themselves at wembley that would be a most enjoyable few days.

Yeah, but it says "must not stop or feint (pretend to kick the ball) at the end of their run-up".

And Eze was very close to the end of his run-up.

And Eze was very close to the end of his run-up.

He still made one final step towards the ball after the last of his many sutters in the run up so it’s still a legal kick.

It just makes the whole thing even more hilarious, all that gamesmanship in the run up and the actual penalty kick itself was pathetic.
