Always one to ponder for high demand matches. Probably should limit official away fans to 15% maximum of total crowd for sensible estimation figures.

40K Amex (6K official away fans) would have been filled several times.

Would 50K (with 7.5K official away fans...) ...?

It is a bit of a moot point in truth as it relies so much on how many away fans would be in home stands. A bit like Palace's famous 51K v. Burnley which included fans of other clubs from all over London who fancied a laugh on a Friday night - 5 years later Palace averaged 6K at Selhurst over a whole season!
Imagine the trains with a 50,000 gate.

I'm not sure the opposition matters much, it's a quarter final (there haven't been many) and it's much cheaper than a league match so people can bring kids along.
Well yes and no. The pricing has helped (and they've got it spot on).

But if the Amex was the size of a big London ground and we played Spurs or Arsenal down here, they'd bring thousands and the gate would be well north of 45,000.

Imagine the trains with a 50,000 gate.
An horrific thought!
If that were to happen they would probably be better off joining all the trains on southern together so you could get on at Brighton and walk all the way to Falmer. It would have the advantage of being inside if the weather was inclement and you could stop every 20 carriages or so and sit down for a rest. Hang on ....................... just spotted a flaw in my cunning plan, if they used all the trains how would you get to Brighton station? Damn, it was all going so well :D

Just had a look at availability and the club have released more hospitality seats mostly in W2A.
Grand total of 112 left, 105 hospitality, 6 wheelchair and one, yes one in W3A

I don't really get how it can be restricted view up there - can anyone explain why it's considered restricted view please?
The seat is immediately next to the foot of a flight of steps. I'd expect that opposite the foot of those steps there is a perspex barrier, that you'd have to peer round (or look through) to see the North end of the pitch fully.

92 expensive lounge access seats available, and 6 wheelchair spaces. Im sure these will go as well, but regardless, it'll be a packed bum on every seat Amex.

It's been said before, but it just shows that really it comes down to pricing.

£30.00 = sell out

£40.00 20k, 25k max ?

Club got this spot on IMO.
Just not sure I agree with that. FA Cup Quarter Final against beatable opposition with the best 3 teams in the country already out, with a great kick off time on a Saturday. I think it would have sold out at £40.

I don't think it would.

A group of us were talking about this last night, and we agreed that £40, psychologically, feels a lot more than £30.

The fact that we've trickled our way to a sell-out with a week to go, when anyone has been able to buy for a while, feels like the price point was spot on.

As @Bozza & @Mellor 3 Ward 4 have said, psychologically that extra tenner is quite significant.

At some price point, there are a rump of people who would think "well, it would be good but lets get a takeaway and watch it on telly instead". They've pretty much nailed it as far as I can see.

Well it was basically sold-out before the weekend, so "two weeks to go" in reality.

2,500 tickets were left for general sale last Thursday morning and there were fewer than 500 by Friday evening (with only a handful of tickets being non-singles). Since then the club has actually released another 80ish by narrowing the segregation area (and another 100 "pie & pint" lounge options at £120 each). The last week has been all about selling every last seat. I've got visions of the ticket office scurrying around like the twats on The Apprentice trying to capture every last penny.

I still agree with you that the price point was spot on. Even raising it from £30 to £32 might have put some people off.

We know that PB reads NSC (or has a certain poster report back to him), the last thing we need is people admitting that they would have paid more!

(However, I do agree with you)

Especially if there's more than one of you going....

But had it been £35 would you have felt the same!

I think the fact we have so many season ticket holders makes one-off match sales a bit more difficult too.

Around 24,000 of us aren't used to having to shell out to go to a game of football very often - the season ticket direct debit just goes out with the gas, water and council tax.
