Not qualified, but you certainly seem to have a ’feel’ for how things work…..markets hate uncertainty and there’s a lot of it at the moment….fortunately I’m not totally reliant on the income generated by my ISA ..though this will change in the coming years ….i had meant to build up a holding in an ETF that goes up when the market goes down….kicking myself now and instead will probably trim a few positions tomorrow …as part of capital preservation, accepting that I’ll still ‘lose’ on paper re the remainder of my portfolio

well done your Dad….mine died at 93 which I consider to be a ripe old age …he had a great pension having been with one company for most of his working life ..no need for getting involved with the stock market….cash went into a building society, with a passbook!
Reference your last paragraph, those were the days!👍

As long as you don't think the UK will be immune to any crashes in the US stock market...
Of course I don’t, I’m not a complete idiot! I was merely mentioning that as Trump was ‘trumpeting’ Liberation day as great for the US and its citizens, it was ironic that at the same time, their markets were plummeting and knocking a load of dollars off these same citizens’ investments. Of course I don’t want US markets to crash, if that was what you were thinking.

Just seen this. I was looking at it later on at 4.20pm, but again declined to buy more. Tomorrow will be an interesting day on the markets.

Good luck with it.
It was my first foray…….i had previously considered PCT but declined….i’ll add to ATT if it drops considerably lower…but only looking to dribble cash in

I got your point. The people who voted him in are seeing their prized pension plans plummeting. With private health insurance they mean everything to Yanks. They work long hours with few holidays, the dream is to retire at 60.

Nikkei now down 7.75% with Vanguard emailing their clients to 'Stay focused on your long-term goals'. It's too late to do anything now anyway, only way is down (for now).

Looks like Trump‘s actions could better the stock market falls when Covid struck and the invasion of Ukraine. What a legacy

Trump’s a Truss recking ball on steroids. At least the UK ditched that old hag in days.
After Truss, the stock markets took at least six months to recover, which only happened because the Tory Party promptly managed out first Kwarteng and then Truss. I'm thinking that the recovery from this disaster won't happen until we've seen the back of Trump and those he has surrounded himself with, which could easily be four years. I'm rather glad that I still have fixed rate ISAs and savings accounts at 5%+ interest from last time round, as my DC pension pots are taking a hammering

Trump knows exactly what he's doing. This was all pre-planned. It is not "chaos".

The new blockchain based financial system is coming to save the day. Then you can stop laughing at all us 'crypto conspiracy theorists' :lolol:
