It amazes me how easily intimidated they are. The only threat has been removal of their access, so far as I know. Cowards.

I am English but live here with my Estonian Mrs. The Estonians are incredibly passionate about their own identity and culture. 1991 still in the fairly recent past when they regained their independence from the Soviet Union and they don't want to give that up for sure.
I have nothing but admiration for this woman. The voice of reason and compassion.
Hopefully she's in a more influential position than she was as Estonian prime minister.
If only she could be cloned !

Ukraine seems to have good intelligence to achieve targeted strikes after an attack. And probably after the war is over.
Note that Shuya is 300 km to the north east of Moscow. So Moscow is easily within reach of this kind of operation.

For me, upon close inspection, the bit that drives it home, is this:

The US is no longer regarded, by the EU at least, as a safe ally. Extraordinary. And in the space of less than 3 months of Trump being in office.
Yes, it is madness.
There are a number of things in Jake's video that kind of defy belief.
I know he's extrapolating his (also quite personal) fears forward re the "illegal detention and deportation to El Salvador ", but given the increasing momentum of the madness, I think he's more likely to be right than wrong.

I think you're right on the last point. The momentum or speed has taken many by surprise.
But there is going to be some pushback, like there has been with the tariffs, leading to retreat on some fronts.
Think back to the insanity of the Rwanda plan. That ended badly for the Tories.
