The Lemming Stomper
Under the flag
Spurs are a much bigger draw for any player than we are, and I'd be suprised if any of our players wouldn't be very keen if they came calling and matched our transfer fee ask.

They pay more so yes plenty would be interested... because of that, and only that.Spurs are a much bigger draw for any player than we are, and I'd be suprised if any of our players wouldn't be very keen if they came calling and matched our transfer fee ask.
Absolutely this. At the weekend, I was talking to a 'relative' who is Tottenham through and through and he was saying the same.Financially, what Levy has achieved at Tottenham is staggering. The club were worth around £80 million when he and ENIC first came sniffing in the late 90s, but Forbes set their valuation at £2.6 billion in May 2024, of which the Levy share is c. 26%
He has created and financed a brand new state of the art stadium and training ground, he has struck commercial deals worth many millions, including the deal with the NFL. He is a proven commercial winner, but has singularly failed on the field.
I disagree that they are a loser club with a loser culture - you don't get to compete in Europe as consistently as they've done in 21st century - but it looks like they will miss out on Europe for the second time in three seasons and that hasn't happened for ages.
I think Levy has taken the club as far as he can and I cannot see the club continuing to appreciate in value like it has without some onfield success.

I agree fully with your first paragraph. Second one I'm slightly less convinced by but I can certainly see the validity of the argument and he'd be nuts to prefer spurs over either Liverpool or Arsenal. When Bissouma joined Spurs, they'd just finished fourth in the league and he was going to play in the CL. They didn't qualify for Europe in his first season, they qualified for Europa League the following season and won't qualify for Europe again this season. So, I'd say they are less of a draw than they were a few years ago.
I suspect someone like Van Hecke (who is the player in question) might not want to get tied down to Spurs - where he's unlikely to be challenging for trophies and would find it hard to move on - and would prefer the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal etc.
