Lewes' manager Craig Nelson is leaving at end of the season for Tonbridge Angels
Meanwhile one of football's great thinkers is pondering his next move

Last week I went along to the SCFL Prem clash, of Lingfield v Shoreham

At Whyteleafe …

8pm on a Friday!

The ground itself is a weird one. I think it’s has the potential to be good, but the 3G is dated and the two stands, one on the side, and one behind the goal feel dated.

The latter has room for about 200 seats but some are broken and / or missing. The other two sides have two small covered flat terraces.

It’s redeeming qualities are the lovely surroundings, with trees and a lots of greenery only 250 yards from the London Borough of Croydon.

The bar area was nice, with limited food options, but a good drinks selection.

The game itself was a ding-dong with both sides needing to win. Two red cards and a sin-bin for the Shoreham goalkeeper later, Lingfield came out deserved 3-1 winners.

Shoreham were the own worst enemy, the made costly mistakes.

Don’t know if they will stay up now?

Yes yes yes I’ll google as well, but does anyone know the state of play today if I tried to get a ticket on the door at the Worthing game?

Going to have to make a very last minute decision as on way down from Nottingham. I’m guessing with no Albion game on I might get lucky?

I’m an idiot and meant the opposite.

Guessing the Dorking game has sold out in part due to NO Albion game on the bank holiday, whereas today there IS a Brighton game and therefore less Worthing tickets sold.

I’m very sleep deprived, sorry.

Had an email from Worthing yesterday advertising tickets for today’s match. You can buy online in advance if you wanted.

No that's fine. I just thought the ghost of HB & B had turned up for a minute.

Worthing 2-1 Chippenham at half time. Babalola slotting a tidy near post finish past the keeper to open the scoring, a soft pen for the equaliser. In stoppage time Faal let loose a shot that pinballed against both posts and nestled in the back of the net.

Game at Worthing turned with that stunner from big Mo just before half time. Thought Chippenham were potentially threatening before that. They were spent after that goal and the Rebels eased to a 4-1 victory. Dan Cashman could have had about 15 assists

AFC Whyteleafe is my local team. The original club Whyteleafe FC sadly went bust, not totally sure but something about non payments for the 3G pitch.
The ground was purchased by a holding company owned by two Ex Liverpool player's.
A new club AFC Whyteleafe was formed but they don't own the ground and have to rent the facilities.
They started again and have had a lot of success and currently sit in a play off spot in the Combined Counties South and have got through to the FA Vase final. They had 2,000 for the home semi final leg.
Looking forward to a trip to Wembley with The Leafe Army.
It would be lovely if they could purchase the ground but I think the landlords make too much in rental income to sell.

Rape of Hastings, Sussex
Along with Hendon today, Bognor Regis Town and Hastings United were confirmed as the final relegated teams from The Isthmian Premier.

I was at the latter to watch a 0-0 draw against Hashtag United. 1135 were in attendance to watch Hastings go down. Sad a club that gets that level of support will be in Step 4 next season.

PS if you’re going to ANY non league match today and paying cash, take a few pound coins. They’ll always be welcome, it only causes delays at the tea hut when once a year Charlies are trying to buy their kid a Freddo with a fifty pound note. 🤣
