League table update. I'm favouring the European tracker to be more accurate than the relegation one, mainly because it puts us above Palace. Also think it more correctly reflects Newcastle's likely finish.

Still on track for our second best ever season but wouldn't take much to fall into 3rd or 4th best territory.

To fall into 4th best season territory we’d have to get fewer than 2 points from our remaining 7 games. That would be quite an appalling run.

To secure our 2nd best season we only need 5 points. To do no better than 1 win, 1 draw and 5 defeats would be quite a poor run.

A predictable two points dropped as our run at home against the bottom teams continue. Woeful. Really looking forward to West Ham coming soon.

10 over relegation, 3 below Europe. But worth highlighting that when the Europe tracker was set it was not expecting Europe to go down to 8th place.

In other news Brentford are the team that follow the tracker closest with 63% of their results predicted correctly. Next week they are predicted to beat Brighton...

I do wonder what Frank would get out of the squad we have

With the bottom 3 being particularly poor this season it looks a more competitive (more points needed) to reach the higher European places. But there is a drop off to the 5 teams racing for 8th.

Spurs had 60 points in 8th position in 22/23 when Brighton reached the Europa League (6th, on 62 points). United also had 60 last season in 8th. Fulham currently occupying 8th on 48, with 7 to play.

So at one point Europe needed us to get 13 points out of the last 8 games. Now we need 12 out of the last 5. That ain ever gonna happe

Even the staying up tracker has us getting 5 out of the last 3 games (where we got one)

The one more point this season for the staying up tracker does look a tad optimistic too

Well I did tell you...

4 below Europe now. At least Pedro will get to have another holiday.

Not a chance 60 needed for 8th, more likely 56, max 57 with our GD.
Agreed. This was set at a time when Europe didn’t go as low as 8th. And I don’t really count the pointless conference tbh. Not sure the club want it either.

The Europe tracker still thinks we will finish 8th, whilst the relegation tracker (more pessimistic by nature) thinks 12th.

I suspect the Europe tracker has not seen us play lately.

Both show Man Utd only one place above the relegation zone. Such a shame that not even one of the promoted teams could muster a bit of fight.

In other news West Ham are the team that follow the tracker the second closest (along with Leicester) with 58% of their results predicted correctly. Next week they are predicted to draw with Brighton...
