I accept I may be a bit peculiar over this one.
I agree the rubric is shit, and I suspect it won't change much.
We know why (the need for the on pitch ref to have the final say on some decision, enough so they can still be the Supreme Dalek).
And we know that VAR won't be binned when we also see incorrect goals, offsides, red cards and penalty decision overruled correctly by VAR.

So maybe we are both on the same side (let's make VAR work better again - MVWBA! - sounds like an African MAGA, which would be ironic).
Wistfully wishing it were gone won't work any better for you than wistfully wishing Thatcher hadn't happened works for me :wink:
What is this mythical 'again' of which you speak.
