FH’s St Pauli formation was two DM pivots interchangeable with a ball playing CB advancing forward. Occupying the same areas.
So we were repeatedly told, but he’s shown absolutely no interest in that formation here and if he does that player won’t be Cashin (unless he improves his overall footballing ability by about 50%).

The drop off in midfield is pretty bad considering we’ve gone from Mac & Caceido to the likes of Ayari within two seasons. He seems to be Fabs golden boy which is strange hill to die on ( for Fab). People will argue about the policy although you can understand why RDZ wanted an experienced midfielder in the door.
It is a big drop off. But with Baleba and Hinsh filling in at the back, I guess Yasin is our best option

I think that’s because one summer transfer window wasn’t sufficient to deliver the personnel. The way CP both games, Stains at the Amex, Leicester at the Amex last 35 minutes, Villa at the Amex, Chelsea away, Forest 7-0 all took the p1ss on the counter into an empty half, points to a plan but we’re not there yet in squad building.

Maybe yeah. Baleba would be ideal for this position though so it’s a surprise they’ve not tried it more if it is the long term plan. Also seems weird to have a record spend and not identify what we were told was the key position in a Fab team. (Or maybe that was Wieffer)

Billy Gilmour mk II anyone?
Given how deligthed you and others were about getting rid of Wee Billy to accomodate Big Mats, we can only hope there's some chronically injured lump we can sign from the Eredivisie to repeat this success.

I've heard there's a 190cm+ Polish guy doing well in Feyenoord now, maybe him?

Awful? No, but invisible. And you'd expect someone who gets into a dozen good positions every game to score a goal now and then.
Thought he wasn't fantastic today but not terrible. My worry is his shooting is absolutely awful for a professional footballer.

I don't go to games anymore but warm ups usually consist of a one-touch shooting drill of exactly the opportunities he seems to have almost every game on the edge of the box where he either passes it to the keeper or blazes it far over. At least he gets in the right positions I suppose.

If you didn’t already hear the Polish guys latest interview I wouldn’t bother, to much praise going RDZ’s way. You wouldn’t like it.

I saw the NSC FB post about it. Three hour tactical training sessions in broken English.
Happy for Moder that he enjoyed it. Always been slightly jealous of masochists.

Not convinced by him at all. Just seems to lightweight and the midfield always struggles when he plays
Possible. But as long as we get substantially more points with him on the pitch than with Gomez/O'Riley/Wieffer, I think he'll play a fair bit of football.
