Potter managed the first 6 games (or 16%) of the season we finished 6th - which is what I was referring to.

Also Potter got us 51 points the season before, which we haven’t reached yet (but hopefully will).
Interesting point. We’re on track for our second highest EPL points tally. This gives this season some context.

Brilliant news for us non-season ticket holders though, more choice and chance of tickets. Every cloud.
Honestly brilliant news for season ticket holders too. If Barber gets stuck with 2k unsold season tickets, watch how much better the rest of the 25k or so of us get treated!

I tend to agree that the Hereford (nearly 30 years ago) Gillingham Withdean part of our history isn’t relevant to how we should view our current season - after all since then we’ve been bought by a billionaire (?) and had the Amex built.

But I do think our history since coming into the Premier League along with our net transfer spend and wage spend is very relevant - and by these metrics we’re doing ok.

Dave the gaffer - thanks to Roz when i managed the REMF team
Publius Ovidious - when I was doing my classics degree and was reading Ovid
dave the oap - now I am an old grumpy git.

cant remember the ones before that

😊😊😊
You did a classics degree in middle age? f***ing fair play - bravo ✊

I totally agree. As I mentioned, second highest ever EPL points tally is a good showing. A few key player acquisitions, and players recovering from injury, will make for an exciting 2025/2026 season.

Instead of PB appreciating us ST holders commiting to pay for 19 games and coming over as doing us a favour maybe he will change his outlook

I love the positivity, however, you are expecting us to get more points this season, ambitious? As for a strong team next season, that depends on how many we cash in on during the summer.
We could easily end up with no more points this season, and a significantly changed squad for next season, such is the way of how the league works and how the Albion is run.

See post above yours. If anything, they’re shaking off part-timers.

Club will only worry about reduced ST numbers if it can’t sell out matches.

More general sale = more bums on seats and more shop revenue.

I think only one of the last 4 games at home has sold out and none of the next 3 have either. Huge assumption to think day buyers are going to stump up what are now extortionate prices for one off games. Unless we are on fire the pitch I suspect a lot of games won’t sell out next season.

This could become a bit of a vicious circle though...

- Lower ST renewal rate
- More new ST to sell
- Fewer new ST get bought
- More matchday tickets to sell throughout the season
- More matches don't sell out, exchange opens less frequently and/or less demand when it does, as most potential buyers have already bought tickets
- Next ST renewal window, some of those who have been left out of pocket by reduced exchange sales decide not to renew (ie back to the top)

I'm not saying this will happen, or not to any great extent but as I've said before, it feels there's been a sharp rise in the "can't be arsed with it" sentiment this season, particularly with evening games.

Most games are selling out. Even Leicester City.

Yes, the profile of our “average” fan is moving from “I’ll go come what may” to “I’ll go if I fancy it”, also reflected in the atmosphere at home games.

Interesting one.

i have renewed ONLY because I now have an old farts ST which is at a reduced rate otherwise, with the amount of games i miss a season I would struggle to justify the cost, and the football doesn’t excite me anymore.

Of the three remaining home games, West Ham - I am playing golf down at littlehampton in the old Birchwood cup, Newcastle , it’s the day after Laura’s wedding celebration do and not sure if I will make it back from Salisbury for 2 kick off ( so I may get a letter from the Club as I won’t put that on the exchange) and Liverpool is a ball ache on a Monday night at 8 o’clock if the EDF parking is not on So I will put that on the exchange…..that means I will have missed 9 home games this year.

the guy next to me in the north stand has not renewed and he was a die hard home and away since he was a kid and he prefers to go to Eastbourne Borough ( he lives in Eastbourne and has had enough of travelling and the experience and football)
I have also been selected to play in the Birchwood on Saturday (to defend our trophy 😜) and I'm struggling to shift my ticket to the few Albion+ members that I know. I would love to just give my ticket to one of my nieces but I'm not paying £20 for the privilege, and since they are only members and not Albion+ members I'm not paying £35 or whatever it is for them to join either...so my seat will most likely be empty! First home game I've missed since Covid and I'm not feeling that bothered...

My thinking is we only need 4 more points from 5 games to have our second highest total. We’re a mid-table team, we win some, we draw some and we will lose some; I’m confident we will get the 4 points we need. I’m also feel Bloom can see the issues in defence and will do some trading to get the players we need in. That said, if Webster, Igor are fully fit then we have 5 central defenders so maybe we won’t buy in this area even though, in my view, we need to upgrade.

We've been so bloody unlucky with our injuries.

It's not just the number of them, it's the concentration across the back four.

Losing both natural right-backs - Veltman and Lamptey, also the ultra-flexible Ferdi, the solid Milner, the long-term loss of Igor and then Dunk and Webster playing tag-team with their availability.

Hindsight is great, but I don't think it was entirely unreasonable to look at the squad and consider we had decent cover.

Im sure if the trains improved no bus replacements etc more would renew and penalties the club impose for not using ST doesnt help. That said early days i expect more will renew once season ends.
