Son got an email asking for him to do a survey because he has missed 4 home games. He hasn't it's 3.

I did the survey for him as his account is registered to one of my email accounts.

He missed 2 because his wife was on life support in hospital, hardly going to think about listing his ticket. The other time was because I was ill and he travels with me. I reminded them he's been to 10 away this year. In 10 years he/we have missed around 10 games in total.

I hate this type of shit. If they allowed you to register another family member or friend (limited) for free they might just gain new supporters over time.
This simply doesn't look good at all. It comes across as aggressive from the club and whilst understandably they want to see as many seats as possible filled whatever next a fine of you leave early? arrive late? Given the fact fans are constantly messed about with changes in ko days and times is 4 that surprising anyway? Stuff like this puts me off the club why cant they be more caring? Apologies if that was the case i.e. they wrote talking of hope everything is all right noticed you've missed 4 games is there anything we can do to help etc. AND I would like to know why the survey is sent and for what purpose do they use it. Just my personal thoughts Im sure they'll be plenty on here think im bang outta order but isnt that the whole point of a fans forum to exchange thoughts

“This means you can attend, list for resale, share or upgrade your ticket but you cannot leave your seat empty for five or more matches”.

Appears very fair.
How do you justify? Throwing up really feeling yuck last thing wanna do is look t a laptop or signal went down or whatever next a GP certificate to say you were too ill to .... just treat fans like human beings, adults. It just smacks of greed as they have got he money from the ticket sae already anyway.

From NEXT season the club are asking you “utilise” your ticket (list or attend) 75% of the time. I think they calculate this by the time of renewal - so March 2026.
So that’s 4 games across a season I’d say. 5 would be slightly more than 75%.

The terms also say if you have justification / (presumably illness) and evidence as to why non attendance then the sanction (no renewal) might be avoided
Just stating what was said. I have no personal issue with the club wanting to maximise revenue. I attended every home game last year and on course for same this year. I did miss two aways this season that I had tickets for, in each case I left decision not to go to very last minute in the hope I would be better in the morning so I have some empathy with people not putting ticket in exchange 24 hours ahead especially when it's unlikely to sell.

Of course it’s fair. You’d have to be really stupid to contest it from next season. I wonder who, if any, will? NSC might NOT be the place to spout off if so! ;) We shall see…

I think you’ve missed the point. Go back and re read this thread and all the points posters have made with regards to FROM NEXT SEASON and STH non-attendance issues.

No, it isn't unlikely. When you get old, or for that matter if you have a chronic illness, it is perfectly likely that you don't know on Friday if you will be fit to attend the match on Saturday.

If the club (any club) is asking for details of the illness or condition, it's a step too far. At the very least "I couldn't come for medical reasons" or "personal reasons" ought to be all they are entitled to know - albeit that would defeat the object of the crackdown.
If I find that my incoming knee replacement prevents me attending the latter stages of the season, and other health problems kick in next season, I am more than happy to regale the club at length, by phone or email, so they know what's what.

I consider my season ticket to be a contract with obligations on both sides.
If I were to regard it so lightly I couldn't be bothered to create a pre-emptive narrative,
were I to find I had to regularly make last minute arrangements,
that would be my lookout.

If one can't be bothered to think it through then it surely won't matter if season ticket renewal is denied,
cos you ain't really that bothered, innit.

I agree, it is fair.

What I don't think is fair is to sanction STHs THIS season for the breach of "rules" that didn't exist when they purchased their season ticket.

What do you do if you’re too sick to go work? Wait a few days until you’ve recovered enough to able to call them?

The whole point of the thread. It wasn’t a rule or at least we weren’t informed that it was a rule, last April.

Many of those on this thread are being ‘wise’ after the event. Btw @drew, the emails were not generic, but specific, and in some cases, incorrect in the data.

…..but that’s 4/5 last minute/late decisions not to go. This is unlikely to happen for the vast majority (and for those it does sure there will be an opportunity to explain ahead of any sanctions).

Does seem unfair however to have implemented it this season (although reading some posts above club seem to have recognised this hasn’t been done very well).

I do wonder if the issue around missing 25%+ of games a season has actually been a condition for ST renewal for some time - but the club just haven’t focused on it until this season. Maybe they’ve noticed more ‘no shows’ and want to do something about it. Maybe they’ve done some analysis and found a trend of some STHs missing a number of games the last few seasons. Some are suggesting it’s about money and greed. I just think they want the stadium to be as full as possible.

The requirement is certainly in the T&Cs for this season - Season Ticket - Terms and Conditions - 17.5 and 17.6

I can’t see the club have been sneaky and slotted this in part way through the season. As with so many things these days when we buy things online, do we all read the small print. I rarely do … I just tick the box to say I have.

The thing is, we are now aware that the club are looking more closely at it. We know what is expected of us. If we know in advance that we can’t attend a game then just out the seat on the exchange or transfer to someone on your friends and family list. If you have an issue after the cut off requirement for the exchange and can’t transfer the ticket, then maybe make a note in case this starts to happen more often and you think you might fall foul of the ‘missing 5 games’ rule.

There's one example. The OP on this thread and his friend who had his ticket listed after non attendance. And the details aren't clear but it sounds like a real comms break down. Either way the user is back attending matches. Has it happened to anyone else ?

Email reminders or even surveys asking people about non attendance and reminding users they can share tickets, or list them on the exchange - with as far as we know - no caution if ignored - seem just standard stuff. But all part of their active campaign ahead of next season . And as some have pointed out - have had some impact on filling seats.

I get the standard threatening email - "don't you dare" share your away ticket - every time i go to away matches. Nearly every week. I just ignore it.

It’s in the T&Cs for this season - 17.5 and 17.6 … but did people read them?

Unless you’re suggesting they were added at a later date to back up what the club are trying to do … which is to get STHs to attend games.

Surely that's why they do this type of shit though? If your son tells them that and they say that's not good enough then that is obviously not OK. If they ask him those questions and he explains what happens then surely they say OK fine, no issues?

Why do fans need to be questioned? Things happen in life where football is just a pass time, and the last thing anyone thinks of, is informing the club. A friend of mine told me yesterday, she was questioned by the club as to why she hadn't attended several games. She gave birth to a baby, who was then very ill and readmitted to hospital.
Do you really think the main thing on her mind was to inform the club?

I can understand the club wants bums on seats, but surely a bit of humanity and leeway from the club wouldn't amiss.
completely this. I was hospitalised a while back, last thing on my mind was to put the ticket (which I pay for) on the exchange.
