Yes, but he wouldn't sign one.....hence they're selling him nowWell, that makes sense, although surely a new Sunderland contract would significantly higher than his initial pro one?

If you have a day job I’d focus on that.To the tune of ABBA's Money:
Tommy Tommy Tommy
Watch him running
Running down the wing
Tommy Tommy Tommy
He's not stopping
Not for anything
Tall but stats say weakness is heading. Shame but guess time to improve.6'3" tall. He's a big lad for a tricky left winger.
He looks to be a very Brighton type signing, i.e. young with loads of raw talent and ambition.
It will be fun to follow his progress.
It's as a songwriterIf you have a day job I’d focus on that.
Don't worry, he's not trained with us yet. When I saw this bounced I assumed that he must be injured......
Mitoma & AdingraGood write-up...
"Assurances from Brighton also played a key role. Despite speculation that Watson may be loaned out or used solely in youth football, the player has been offered a genuine shot at competing for a place in the first team next season. Brighton are expected to move on some attacking players this summer, and Watson’s integration into the senior squad is said to be a key part of their plan."
I thought he'd been arrested for inciting racial hatred again. When I saw this bounced I assumed that he must be injured......
Ferguson - an unused sub for Potter's defeated West Ham yesterday?Mitoma & Adingra
More likely Ferguson, Enciso and BuonanotteMitoma & Adingra
Always make me chuckle when I see the Japanese fan in the WSU every game with Hinshelwood on his shirt.Felt genuinely sorry for the hordes of Mitoma Japanese fans witnessed outside the West before the game on Saturday. All with Mitoma shirts on, fresh from dropping probably about £200 each in the club shop (as well as thousands on the flights/trip), only to learn Mitoma was out injured – and to round it off, they get that second half to witness and a chorus of boos at the end.
At least they've had nice weather over here.
Are they likely to come up? Perhaps back to them for a loan.
If Sunderland get promoted he wouldn’t be able to go there on loan until January. Premier League rules prevent a club loaning a player to another PL club in the same window that they are signed.
Any loan would have to be back down to the Championship or abroad.

Fukken diddums.Sunderland fans aint happy with our new boy, he's already left in sprirt!
You mean he’s a midfielder and not a signing for a position where we actually need players? He looks to be a very Brighton type signing,
