Always Brighton. Not from a football-supporting family, so only contact was through newspapers and the radio (Sports Report and - bizarrely - Sport in the West on the Home Service).
Used to go and watch Polegate in those days.

Brighton but I had no interest in football at all before the cup final. #Gloryhunter

Supported England as a teenager in late 1960s early 1970s. Had a crush on Geoff Hurst and Bobby Moore, West Ham players and so by default, followed the team. I was aged 15 when my friend Sandy dragged me to the Goldstone ground, as she fancied someone in the North Stand. Don't remember much about the match at all, but was from that day on, a Brighton fan.

Unusually, I am not from Sussex - or the UK - and didn’t watch club football at all before adopting Brighton as my club late under Potter, due to its history and football and my love for the city.

Could have made my life a bit easier by going with a West London club but have no regrets!

I had a weird dalliance with Ipswich in the early 80s as a small boy. Weird as I grew up in Sussex and Dad was a fully fledged Albion fan. I think I liked the kit, plus they were pretty good back then

I do have other teams that I follow…

Stalybridge Celtic - my great uncle played for them and Witton Albion.

St Johnstone, my Scots team.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle - my son’s Scots team.

Xanthi - My Greek team.

Albacete Balompié - My Spanish team.

Újpest - My Hungarian 🇭🇺 team

Napoli - My Italian team.

Juvenes/Dogana - My San Marino 🇸🇲 team.

I only started to like/watch football on TV when I was 11or 12 and at that time ( 1979 ) I started to support Chelsea.......then in 1981 started going to Albion games at the Goldstone and everything changed :albion2:

As a DFL West Ham for me. Brighton were still bad when I started to go regularly.....since then it's been promotion after promotion and European football with one relegation thrown in to remind me of my previous football life and the many relegations I had previously enjoyed.

I don't remember the World Cup of 1966 (I was 10) other than World Cup Willy and it being in all the shops. Certainly didn't watch it on TV for some reason.
But one year later the 1967 FA Cup Final must have come to my attention and I started to support the winning team, Tottenham. But it was purely looking up the scores if I could be bothered. My first and only actual game was at WHL in January 1971, Spurs lost to Southampton 1:3. I can even remember where I stood, right at the front to the left of the goal.
And then Villa came to the Goldstone and I was hooked. ST on the wooden benches in the south stand courtesy of my uncle, a ST holder in the West, the next season.
